7" BoArt Rain Gauge easy to check and read.
The 7" BoArt Rain Gauge comes with a range of installation heights, though the stabilizing L=Bracket is a little fragile and easy to bend and break. Overall I am happy with the BoArt Rain Gauge, it is easy to check and read. I also like how easily the cylinder slides out of the mounting bracket to read and empty.

Freeze proof
It filled up with water and froze solid, will not crack or bust. Great product best rain gauge Iโve ever had

Plastic Rain Gauge cracks and the stand rusts and falls apart
I was happy with this rain gauge for a while. Then the plastic cracked in several places and didn't hold water. I bought new plastic gauges for the stand. I had not used the new gauges but a few weeks when the top of the stand fell apart from the bottom of the stand due to rust. That's it for me with this type of rain gauge. I will look instead for a gauge that gives in the heat and cold and without a stand that can rust

It is not freeze proof!! I like the product even so.

Good enough
Good item but not freeze proof. Still at this price point I don't mind buying each year. It hold a lot and being off ground gives better accuracy.

NOT Freeze Proof
I finally figured out why all my neighbors get more rain than I do; there's a crack in the back of the tube and it leaks out any water over 3/4"! It apparently busted over the winter because I left it out thinking that it wouldn't freeze! The temps got down in the teens a couple nights; so much for the "freeze proof" feature. Amazon sells replacement tubes for $13.95/2 and the new gauge for $8.95 which seems unappealing. I put glue on the crack and we'll see how that works!
