Perfect fit for my LCR. Definitely need to wear a size up in the pant waist... Otherwise this holster provides east access and not noticeable when worn to the keenist eye.

I read the reviews. More than one reviewer mentioned how far that j hook sticks out. I thought i could work with it. No way. The leather and stitching is good , the plastic j hook is ok. But I can’t get over how the leather piece supporting the j hook cants the j hook so far out. It pushes the holster toward your body. You may think that a good thing, think again. The j hook bends, and the holster sits awkwardly . Not great for a right side draw. Maybe you can get away with appendix. Idk . I was gonna try a work around, but just bought another holster. Shame the leather quality is good. Live and learn.

Fits My S&W 637 (external hammer) Airweight .38 special quite snugly, maybe a bit too much so. Should do the same on a 642 or similar snub-nose. I'm not sure I like the plastic belt clip instead of a metal one, but maybe it's sturdy enough. It tilts the holster inward more than it should; I don't know if I got a slightly mis-constructed one. I'll have to see if I can correct that. If I can, I'm happy with it. The holster is nice heavy leather, and comes with instructions on how to loosen it up a little if necessary. I did a similar process to their suggested one. I wrapped the 637 with plastic wrap, generously dampened the interior of the holster with a sopping dishcloth, inserted the revolver into it and left it to dry for a while. It now is still firmly in place, but will slide out without trying to take the belt with it. It might be able to come loose on its own if I stand on my head. If I decide I've made it a bit too loose as it wears in, I'll just re-dampen it and squeeze it together a little with nothing in it... maybe clamp it a bit over the trigger guard area.

As the headline says... If I bought this holster for my Taurus 85 or S&W 442, which it fits perfectly, I'd have rated it 4 or 5 stars. The leather seems good quality. The way the polymer clip fits isn't perfect, but it works. However, I bought it because it was billed as fitting the 856, and it doesn't really. It took some serious forcing and stretching initially to get gun to finally go deep enough into the holster to cover the trigger, and it doesn't seat as fully or neatly as my 442 or 85. After a few days of stretching, I can get it to seat far enough that I will carry it. I certainly don't need to worry about retention, the gun isn't falling out. Though, it will take a stronger yank to draw it than I'd like.

Great holster. It’s held up amazing. It definitely has a nice snug fit too even though it’s been used for over a year now

Very comfortable and keep the revolver closer to your body then similar holsters.
