I bought this dabler for my 2014 gmc sierra with a 5.3l v8. So far it works great! the truck is now shifting smoother because its not having to shift due to afm kivking on or off, and certainly saves wear and dear on the torque converter this way. my gas milage has decreased slightly on the highway as expected, but not ebough to really be an issue(i.e 11.5 liters per 100 kms instead of 10.9 l per 100 km difference), but i've noticed something else. my gas milage in-town has vastly improved. The one thing i will warn you as i found out the hard way a couple nights ago in our -40 cold snap in Alberta, you must unplug this module when it gets down below -30 celcius, or it may wreck the module and kill your battery in the process. luckily after mine warmed up for 24 hours, it is working again.

AFM/DFM is a critical component of many vehicles that have been manufactured in recent years to improve fuel efficiency and comply with stringent federal regulations. If your vehicle is well taken care of, most folks never have a problem. However, why not try to eliminate that problem before it becomes one. I have several vehicles with this feature that I have disabled using this plug-in tuner. I have had zero issues with any of the ones I have purchased. It eliminated a shutter I was having in one of my vehicles that was beginning caused by a torque converter slippage during the transition from 4 to 8 cylinders and back. In one of my other vehicles, I was beginning to have a lifter noise due to the lifter not wanting to immediately come out of 4-cylinder mode, so I connected one of these to prevent my vehicle from entering 4-cylinder mode again, which resolved the noise, and will ultimately delay the need to do a lifter job on that vehicle. This device is about as easy as it gets. Just plug it in and drive! Yes, you need to leave the device plugged in all the time when you are driving, but I have experienced no issues related to it draining my battery or anything. Yes, it does cause a parasitic draw on your battery as it has some blue LED lights, but not enough to cause a problem, unless your battery already has a problem. The best part of connecting one of these devices is that you feel like you get the power of your vehicle back, as you are robbed of power every time it switches down to 4-cylinder mode. Once it is connected to your vehicle you will immediately feel the responsiveness increase. This is a great way to increase the longevity of your vehicle motor, and I highly recommend it.

Plug and play. Eliminated AFM immediately upon install. No need to spend more money on something else. This works great. I haven’t had any issues with battery discharging although my 2009 Sierra has only sat for 2 days at any given time. I will likely unplug it if my vehicle ever sits for an extended period of time as the instructions indicate this can discharge the battery.
