Was built just like the original

I ordered this after the description said it would work with my pool pump. It was not the same as the part it was to replace, but I installed it because it was supposed to work. When I turned on the pump it made a loud grinding noise and did not move any water.

Importantly, the armature was the correct size. A slight drawback was that the impeller is smaller than the original impeller. Therefore, the flow is less.

This replacement impeller works better than the OEM part and the only reason I can surmise that the impeller was stated as well made by the other reviewer but not having enough power is because they don't understand you have to prime the pump by force filling the pump intake hose with water before trying to dry suck the water into the intake hose.After the pump was up and running, I could feel the water moving out the outlet hose from 36 inches away from the outlet end.So, one bad review and one good review; but take it from the point that this isn't about the width of the impeller fins; but rather whether or not you know to prime a pool pump which isn't mentioned in the other review.

The description states that this is a replacement impeller for a krystal clear model 635. This part DOES NOT work for that model. IMO, the reason for it is that the fins on the impeller aren't as wide as the original. You can hear it running, but it just doesn't have enough water being sucked/pushed through for it to be able to fill the hoses with enough pressure to make it work. It's a well made unit, just not for this model pool pump
