I have always purchased the national geographical products each year at Christmas and my son loves them. He specifically asked for the crystal one this year as he had been learning about it at school. It's always a really fun but educational growing kit. The instructions are easy to follow and the crystal grows over tike in water. My son currently has it in his bedroom and it does glow in the dark so he is thrilled! Would highly recommend.

So unlike many of the other kits we have tried this one actually grows a crystal. Easy to follow instructions, more or less fool proof. Just be warned the colour doesn't last, it starts off green although not as green as the picture but fades over a few months to the barest green tinge.

Bought for Christmas for my nephew. He had fun watching it grow and now wants more! Had to order a replacement as original order came with label printed on. Need to think about this Amazon when giving things as gifts.
