Very capable; augments a plug-in vac in mid-sized home; suitable for small homes/apartments
Our home is about 2,000 sq ft, mostly wood floors and tile on 3 levels. We have one cat. Our primary vacuum is a plug-in Dyson Ball Animal, with which we are very satisfied. The cordless V11 is exactly what we were looking for when we decided to find a robust replacement for a broom and dust pan. The big vacuum works great, but it requires getting it out of the closet, unwinding the cord, plugging in the cord, pushing it around the clean-up area, then unplugging, coiling the cord and putting it away. This is unsatisfactory for small clean up jobs that are inevitable between major cleaning days. Enter the V11. It is light, easy to grab, capable, and convenient with the separately purchased free-standing rack/mount. Not having to fool around with the cord is the biggest advantage, but it is reasonably light, maneuverable, and capable. The adjustable suction is nice and the battery charge has never run out, despite running it on both stair cases (up and down) and our entire 1,200 sq ft living level. It works especially well on hard floors, but needs a little bit more effort on our large area rugs or carpets. Contrary to some other reviews here, we have not had any mechanical or electrical difficulties with the vacuum. Nor is it difficult to use and empty. Yes, you have to hold the trigger for the vacuum to run, but it is neither difficult, nor tiring. I particularly like the emptying process for the canister; it holds a fair amount of fur, dust, and dirt and empties neatly into our tall kitchen garbage receptacle. In summary, this is a very convenient tool for keeping a home clean during the week. If I had a small home/apartment, it would be quite sufficient on its own.

My honest true review
Who doesn't love Dyson? I have wanted a wire free Dyson vacuum for a long time. It does a wonderful job vacuuming. I have mostly hardwood floors and a few rugs. It is amazing to use on the wood floors. It picks up everything including dog hair. On the rugs it makes them look clean and vacuumed. I love all of the attachments it comes with. It is light weight and easy to maneuver. I am 56 years old and not in the best condition, so when I say it is light weight and easy to maneuver, I am being honest. I can vacuum the house much quicker since there is no cord to fight with or having to change electric outlets because the cord wont stretch throughout the entire house. I hate to vacuum, but this Dyson makes it enjoyable and a quick, easy chore to accomplish. I have not ran out of battery power while vacuuming. I have a 1600 square foot home and I have yet to run out of power before I am finished vacuuming the house.

Dyson cordless has done it again.
I have had quite a few cordless Dysons. This one is the best so far. It is amazing just how much it will pick up. We live in a area where we have wind, plus we live in a area where there's quite a bit of sandy soil. I have a and great vacuum that really has great suction and can pull a lot of the sandy soil out of my carpets. This cordless Dyson also has great suction. For in between time I use the Dyson. The first time I used I was so surprised at the sandy soil that it extracted from my carpets. This is the first time that I have noticed that. Dyson has always been a great quality vacuum and I also use a Dyson blower dryer. Always a great product. The cost is very expensive that can be a draw back for some one in a strict budget.

Best vacuum for pets
I have tried so many other brands of cordless vacuums and this is the best/only one that pics up all my cats’ hair from rugs and carpet. It’s light weight, easy to use, has a long battery life, fits discreetly in the corner for charging. We bought one of those stands to hold it. My cat comes over to say thank you to the vacuum by purring and rubbing against it for cleaning the floors every time I’m done.

Worth Every Penny
I have been using normal Dyson vacuums for a few years now, and always wanted to try the cordless version but didn't want to spend the money. After moving into a three-story townhouse, I decided to spend the money, and I am so glad I did. Trying to vacuum my stairs with the regular Dyson vacuum was difficult, but with the addition of this V11 cordless, it is a breeze to vacuum my stairs. It's lightweight and has great suction! I was surprised at just how much actual dirt it sucked up. I used this for my townhouse, which was is about1,200 sqft, and had just enough power to finish my entire home.

GOOD: CLEANS VERY WELL AND HAIR does NOT WIND AROUND THE ROLLER! BAD: EVERYTHING ELSE
UPDATE SEPT 2024: I forgot to add the reason why I did NOT return this since it took 3 times longer to vacuum even my hall, much less the rest of my 4 bedroom house that is all tile or linoleum or hardwood due to the small vacuum head: THE BEST PART OF THIS VACUUM is I DON'T HAVE TO SPEND 10 MINUTES WITH A RAZOR SLOWLY REMOVING ALL THE HAIR THAT WRAPS AROUND TTHE ROLLERS of ALL OTHER VACUUMS I HAVE TRIED. THIS IS A MIRACLE TO ME and I don't know how they do that, but THAT SAVES ME TIME and HASSLE, so I upgraded it. 1) It is HEAVY to MOVE AROUND, especially when having to turn frequently just to clean a small area (probably not a problem for average stronger person, but I have arthritis in my hands and my wrists hurt after every time I use it having to turn so many times for even small areas); 2) The head is VERY SMALL, so it takes 4 RUNS JUST TO COVER A HALLWAY (2 sides and 2 in center); 3) It TAKES ME 6 TRIES PRESSING HARD JUST TO RELEASE THE DUST Container; 4) The "ON" tab is poorly placed so just to take it out turns in on inadvertently; 5) WAY OVERPRICED for negatives; BUT, IT DOES CLEAN WHAT YOU CAN COVER OVER VERY WELL.

Almost makes me look forward to vacuuming. Battery lasts too long.
Bought this six months ago. I don't use it as often as I should, but I do use it more often than I used my two-ton Filter Queen. Just today I decided to try some of the attachments. They are just super! I still hate vacuuming, but I hate it less than before I got this cordless machine. It is very easy to empty, lightweight, no cord to trip over. The battery lasts plenty long. Too long, really. I'd like an excuse to quit sooner.

It’s a narcissistic vacuum
9/2/24 - I have reached out to Dyson twice now regarding this piece of junk. Zero response from them so it looks like I’m out over $500. Cool. Except not. I wait to leave reviews on stuff like this for this very reason. After having the same vacuum for 8 years and having it tainted by a divorce, I was excited for this vacuum. Did the research, truly thought it was the best fit for what I needed. So far it’s been just like my ex. It was great at first! Attractive, shiny and easy to get along with. Relatively easy to put together. Worked well and everything seemed to be going well! I wanted to love it so of course I overlooked the first red flag being there wasn’t enough place holders for all the attachments between the vacuum itself and the dock so now you have a bunch of free floating attachments. My ex came with a bunch of useless stuff too. Hmm. Moving on… battery life started out pretty good. It was energetic but even 5 months in, it’s starting to taper and not last as long. Sound familiar? The canister is super small. It does not get the job done. So you start putting in more work for less and getting your steps in walking back and forth to the trash to empty it. The button to release the canister is sticky I have to fight to separate the canister from the wand. Good times. And slowly… it starts doing less and less. The bickering and fights start because it’s clogging over the smallest dust bunny. If it’s not fine, silty easy to pick up sand/dirt, It’s not picking it up. It will jam over the smallest pebble. It’s top heavy and heavy in general, there’s no just setting it down and walking away from it for a breather. It will throw a tantrum, fall over, crash into things and just be dramatic. Like my ex. Hair wraps around the tiny wheel on the bottom and they just seize right up making it hard to push. It looks for any excuse to not finish the job. Like my ex. So just like my ex, it will eventually suck all the joy and happiness out of you no matter how hard you try to make it work and how positive you remain. I’m pissed I wasted time and money on this thing. At least this time, I didn’t wait 8 years to end it.
