Pete's Pasta Spaghetti, Low Carb, Keto, 17g Protein Pasta, 7g Net Carbs

This pasta is really fantastic. I didn’t cook the first pack long enough, that was my fault. Says to boil 11-20 minutes, I did 15 minutes and that’s not long enough. Second box I boiled noodles 24 minutes and they were perfect al dente. The texture and flavor were perfect after boiling them that long. I can’t believe how good it is for being so low carb. Yes, it’s expensive, but I love pasta and i love not being fat. This extra money is well spent and very tasty. Got to end this review so i can buy more! Peace out and get your body back and eat like you’re cheating.

Disappointing texture – dense, chewy cardboardI really wanted to love this pasta, but the texture is a major letdown. The box directions are completely wrong; you have to boil it for 15 to 20 minutes just to make it edible. Even after cooking it for that long, it remains incredibly dense and heavy. Instead of having a nice, tender bite, it feels thick, gummy, and honestly tastes like chewing on wet cardboard. It completely ruins the texture of the dish, no matter how much sauce you put on it. Definitely not worth the high price tag.

Stiff, hard to cook, does not taste like pasta at all. If you look at the pictures from their web site, it appears as though this product is just like regular pasta. It is not. Don't expect silky soft noodles, even after hours of cooking. I tried soaking over night, which softened them slightly, but the texture turned to mush. Don't expect to be able to twirl around your fork. They are more like little twigs than pasta. BUT... Though they do not taste like pasta, it's not a bad flavor at all. I kind of like it now. My initial disappointment came from unmet expectations. I really wanted an exact replica of genuine pasta that would not blast my blood sugar (I have type 1 diabetes). I wanted plates full of this pasta to look like the idyllic pictures on their web page. Once I let go of those pictures, I could appreciate the product for what it was: A noodle shaped, stiff, sort-of pasta. It will never be "fork-spinable" like real pasta. Let the dream of delicious zero carb pasta go and you can appreciate this stuff. These will not twirl on any fork. But, break the sticks into 1/3 or 1/4 length pieces, and they're great with cheese sauce or marinara. Expect to cook them twice as long as standard spaghetti; 30 mins minimum. Cooking them 6 hours won't change the consistency. They do not taste like pasta at all, but I like the unique buttery flavor. Would I buy again? You might be surprised when I say yes. This is a new food, with different texture and a new flavor. I'm still experimenting with it. I would encourage you to do the same, but I would not buy 3 boxes of the stuff to start. One is plenty.

The macros for this pasta seemed really good, but honestly if you REALLY WANT to know how this works as a viable substitute for the real thing, I will tell you it is only "almost passable" AT BEST. 1. The texture is noticeably off. It has a chalkiness to it that is a bit off putting and you notice it immediately! 2. The flavor is just dead. It will never be a noodle that can stand on its own but rather will need heavy sauces to help it become palateable. 3. This pasta took over 35 minutes on HIGH boil before it even reached near al denté level. RIDICULOUS. I never could get it to truly soften to near normal levels that most people would expect. 4. The price point is far too high for the aforementioned shortcomings. 5. I have had a few other pastas that were much more enjoyable than this one and they had great macros AND LOW CARB numbers too, so it CAN BE DONE. The fine folks at Petes just need to rework this recipe back at their test kitchens in Italy.... and try again.

We were very disappointed in the pasta. It took forever to cook. I cooked it for over 30 minutes and it was still very al dente thank goodness I had my whole made sauce to cover up what needed to be covered up flavor was OK but I will not purchase it again. I thought it was way too pricey for what we got.

I had high hopes for the spaghetti but am very disappointed on several levels. First, it says there are four servings in a box. We got two and each was an average portion. $10 a box for two servings is way over-priced. Two, I boiled this for 22 minutes and it still tasted like is was super al-dente….way too chewy. Third it does not taste good. Very disappointed and will not buy again. Banzi Pasta made with chick peas cooks much faster and has better taste.

Whole family loves this pasta!! Delivery is great b/c unlike other places the pasta has never arrived broken.

Amazing, the right taste and texture. Best substitute for pasta but very pricey.
