Superior to other popular cameras I have purchased for my home
I have another very popular home security camera brand and compared to that I will say, the Arlo camera was superior. The camera quality is great it captures and NOTIFIES in real time. With my previous camera the notifications were late and lagged, the app didn’t open right away and when I need it to check what’s going on it always fails causing me to just look through the peep hole. The app for this camera has not failed me yet and when I need it to work it does, as requested, every time. The camera lights up at night using a high flashlight, but you can control the brightness on the app as well. You are able to speak into the camera through the app to communicate as well. You can listen and mute also. I stood in front of it with a red shirt and it sent me a possible fire alert which I honestly thought was absolutely amazing and gave me an extra feel of great security I didn’t know I was missing. That is a feature that as a parent, homeowner and just human with a dryer in my home gave me a huge sense of comfort. You do get a free trial to the subscription which is nice to not have to commit right away but instead get a feel and make the decision later. The camera is easy to install as it does come with a stand that you can screw into place in any wall of choice. Great quality at all times and weather. The Arlo home cameras and app are both absolutely reliable and I highly recommend.

Great Outdoor camera
The Arlo Essential Outdoor Camera 2nd Generation is a fantastic choice for anyone looking to bolster their home security. This camera excels in several key areas, making it a top contender in the market. First and foremost, the camera offers impressive 1080p HD video quality. The footage is crisp and clear, ensuring that you can easily identify details both during the day and at night, thanks to its superior night vision capabilities. This is crucial for outdoor surveillance, where varying light conditions can be a challenge. Installation is a breeze with the Arlo Essential Outdoor Camera. It is entirely wireless, which means you don’t have to deal with the hassle of running cables around your property. The setup process is straightforward and user-friendly, making it accessible even for those who aren’t tech-savvy. The motion detection feature is highly sensitive and accurate, providing instant alerts to your smartphone whenever motion is detected. This real-time notification system is invaluable for keeping you informed about any activity around your home. The built-in siren and two-way audio further enhance security, allowing you to deter potential intruders and communicate with visitors directly through the camera. One of the standout features of this camera is its compatibility with smart home systems like Alexa and Google Assistant. This integration allows for convenient voice control and seamless interaction with other smart devices in your home. Storage options are flexible with the Arlo Essential Outdoor Camera. You can choose between cloud storage and local storage with an Arlo SmartHub or base station. This flexibility ensures that you can select the storage solution that best fits your needs. In summary, the Arlo Essential Outdoor Camera 2nd Generation is a robust, user-friendly, and highly effective security solution. Its excellent video quality, ease of installation, responsive motion detection, smart home compatibility, and flexible storage options make it a top choice for enhancing home security. Highly recommended!

There is a software issue that can brick these cameras...
There is some combination of settings I use in their app that will brick these cameras permanently with no ability to factory reset. I haven't figured out which combination of settings it is, but it seems that it might just be safer to keep the cameras at their out-of-the-box settings if you want to avoid bricking the product. This is garbage coding by the manufacturer. It's easy enough to return a new one, but you are out of luck (and money) if you brick an older one. Pretty cool business model to place a trap door in your firmware code that forces people to buy your product again. EDIT: figured out the trick to re-syncing these when you get stuck with the blue light long flash. What's happening is that when you have gone into the app and removed the camera, it can no longer connect to your wi-fi. The issue is that it is STILL creating and trying to upload recordings nonetheless. When you go to perform the reset and reconnect steps they wont work because you are handling the camera and generating new recordings by creating motion. The trick is to: 1. Make sure the camera is fully charged. 2. Set the camera on a shelf in a well-lit room, facing a static scene like a wall or at objects that will have no motion from things like shadows, movement or lights being turned on/off. Leave it here for whatever amount of time it needs to complete trying to record/upload. Wait until the long blue light flash stops plus some time for good measure. 3. Press the pair button on the camera for 3 seconds but do so while holding the camera perfectly still and not generating a shadow in the view of the camera - all of this while facing the static scene you created. This should give you the fast blue light flash we need. 4. start the "add device" process in the app. 5. the add device process will tell you this device has been previously paired and needs to be reset. 6. press the pair button on the camera again, this time for 15-20 seconds (or until you see an amber light flashing) - again, hold the camera perfectly still. 7. Wait until the amber light stops flashing, then press the pair button again to get the fast blue light flash. 8. tell the app to attempt to connect to the device again. This time the app should find the camera. 9. in my case, the app froze when attempting to name the camera. If this happens, close/terminate the app. Re-open the app and go into the settings for the camera you just successfully added. It will have an error message that "onboarding must be completed", click that and complete the rest of the setup if necessary. What a farce. This company needs to fire their developers and bring on new people to improve this code/logic.

Easy Install and great quality!
I’ve been using the Alto Essential Indoor/Outdoor Security Camera for a few weeks now, and I’m really impressed! I set it up in my backyard to keep an eye on my kids while they play outside, and it’s been a game-changer. The setup was straightforward—within minutes I had it connected to my Wi-Fi and the app. The video quality is excellent, even at night, thanks to its infrared night vision. I can clearly see everything, whether it’s bright daylight or after the sun sets. The motion detection feature is super accurate too, alerting me when there’s movement, which gives me peace of mind. One thing I really appreciate is how durable and weatherproof it is. We’ve had some rainstorms, and the camera still works perfectly. The two-way audio is also a nice touch; I can talk to my kids if I need to from my phone, which is handy when I’m inside the house or away. Overall, I’m really happy with this camera—it’s affordable, reliable, and gives me confidence that I can keep an eye on my kids while they’re playing outside. Highly recommend!

Good quality
Overall, I’m really happy with these Arlo Essential 2K cameras. The video quality is sharp, even at night thanks to the color night vision, and the motion detection is very responsive. Setup was straightforward, and I love that they’re wireless and can be used both indoors and outdoors. The built-in spotlight and two-way audio are also nice touches for added security and convenience. My only real complaint is that there’s no option to use a memory storage card. You have to subscribe to Arlo’s cloud plan in order to review and save recordings, which is a little frustrating—especially when other brands offer local storage. That said, the performance and features are solid, and the app is easy to navigate. If you don’t mind the subscription model, these cameras are a great choice for home security.

Solid Wireless Cameras
Overall solid cameras and features! **I would not recommend using these cameras to monitor through glass (i.e. have them outside to monitor outdoors, as intended, or use them as indoor cameras). I am still on the trial plan, but I appreciate and plan to utilize the no cost features long term (motion notifications, live video streaming, 2-way audio, and remote siren activation). Set up was fairly straightforward and took around 10 minutes each - you need to mount them and use your phone (mine needed a few minutes to connect to wifi and update). There is not much instruction included in the box but there is a little booklet with pictures, a website to visit, and an QR code for the app. It relies on an app to set up and more instructions are included when setting up via the app. The cameras said to charge before setup but no indication of how to tell when fully charged unless you set them up, and only one charger cord is included (any USB-C chargers can work, but one with a rectangular end I tried did not fit). My cameras were at 99%. There are wall mounts and screw kits included but the cameras can stand on their own. I really like that they are completely wireless, but keep in mind you will have to charge at some point. **I tried to use inside our apartment looking outside at our vehicles through a window, but the video quality through glass is not ideal at night (you basically can only see the light reflecting off the glass). Of course these are supposed to be used outside - I understand that and will either figure out how to set them up outside or use them inside as doggo cams.

High quality security camera!
If you’ve been wanting a security camera for your home like me then the Arlo Essential XL 2nd Generation Wireless Security Camera is the product for you & your home. It’s easy to set up and monitor via the Arlo Secure app. This security camera has a 130 degree field of view and can be set to 3 different modes – Arm Away for when you leave your home, Arm Home to stay protected while at home, and Standby which allows you to disarm your device. The app also allows you to set routines and automations to change modes based on your schedule & preferences. In the app you can see the camera feed and can browse through the occurrences happening outside your door throughout the day or days prior. It has color night vision and an integrated spotlight that can be turned off and on to ensure nighttime visibility. It also has 2-way audio, which allows you to speak to anyone at your door without opening it and allows those at your door to answer as can be seen and heard here. This security camera is also a smart product so it integrates seamlessly with smart devices like Alexa. This provides an easy way for you to monitor your camera handsfree. If you are an avid Amazon shopper like me this product is a must as it allows you to keep an eye on all packages that are delivered and help to eliminate missing and stolen packages. One of my favorite features about this product emergency response. The app makes it easy to call a friend or call for fire, police, or medical attention through the push of a button. You can also activate a siren that sounds like this: These features help put me at ease and make me feel safe in my own home.

Awesome but..
Amazing this is my first time having Arlo products and set up was super easy. It’s simple to install quality is amazing for a 2K. Definitely would want to add more in the future. These being wireless you do need to charge them. So I would place them that’s accessible to an extent. Update after further inspection: Pros great quality and features, it does have a learning curve at the beginning. I’m still firm on a few things mentioned above BUT here are my cons sadly. 1. It’s delay on notice for some reason it takes a moment to buffer and load content or notify. Just a minute or two, this may be an inconvenience for many. I have decent wifi so I know that’s not the issue here. 2. Battery life, these were fully charged and mount at 100%. Overnight looking at maybe 12-13 hrs now I’m at 89% isn’t super crazy but makes me wonder if long term it’s worth it. Unless you order an additional solar panel accessory may be the trick if possible. 3. Sadly the subscription- this is a downfall for what these cameras are for. The purpose is to notify and to provide at most some recordings. Seems to be that you need to subscribe & that’s PER cam or get a subscription for unlimited cameras for all the basics. These cameras are good and amazing details than my previous camera I had but unfortunately won’t be paying for any subscriptions. 😩

Rendimiento
