Stretch Magic Elastic Beading Cord – Clear Color, 1mm in Diameter, 25-Meter (82 ft) - Easy to Knot, Strong & Stretchy String for Making Beaded Jewelry

This string wouldn't be ideal for professional jewelry makers, but it's perfect for children's beading. This particular roll features a clear color which the kids seemed to be a huge fan of- as it turned invisible once the beads where on it. We used pony beads, small seedbeads would be too small for this string. But for seed beads it was perfect. It's firm enough for kids to easily use. It's not flimsy so they can hold it still and easily put the beads on. The firmness is good- but it doesn't streth that much. It stretches enough for bracelets to fit over the hand and necklaces to fit over the head. But it will break if it's pulled too hard. It doesn't tie very easily either, so if you are making children's crafts you will be making a lot of the knots for them. I knotted each bracelet for times and pulled tightly each time just so the tie would stay. It's a bit hard to get it to not unravel itself, so you need to tie it tight- again without pulling so hard it breaks. Other than that though, this string is absolutely the easiest material for kids to work with. It fits through beads easily and stands firm when it's heald upright- so the beads can easily slip on. It's clear and hides benith the beads easily. Overall, my kiddies got to make a bunch of lovely jewelry and this string was a great buy. When I run out, I'll be back for more. A few tips: Tape one side of the string onto a table, this will keep the beads from falling off. Then when the kids are finished untape the string and tie it. When you tie the string double knot it. Then tie it two more times, but pull the elastic and let it snap back and fourth a few times with each not. This will ensure it doesn't unravel and fall apart. Pony beads work great with this product and I highly reccommend the big bags of them. If you have a bunch of kids- like a camp like I do- this string is enough for I would say 100 kids to make 2 bracelets each. I had 20 over, each made 3 to 4 bracelets, and we only used half the string.

Amazing cord for making bracelets. I make crystal bracelets which can be heavy, and this is the best cord I've found. Soo much stronger than anything you'll find in any big box store, I bought several. I got the 1mm and its perfect.

This is “stretch magic“ which is the go to for anyone needing elastic cord, especially for Jewelry making This is the full 1.0mm this is thicker & good for larger beads or if he is stronger bracelet or necklace that will stand up to more daily punishment. They also have 0.5.mm & other size is it or not as thick for all your needs If you craft or bead or make jewelry I don’t need to tell you, but if you are new, TS you cannot go wrong with stretch magic

This string is very strong! Much better than the previous brand I had as it literally fell apart in my hands. I can make my bracelets now!!!

Excellent thread and easy to use

After figuring out how to knot i love and prefer the 1mm. Its thicker and bracelet feels well put together. The knot that works for me is…left over right,pull under, then the right goes around the left twice, pull, then when knot is together pull and rock(pulse) the knot tight. Work that knot all angles. As for me, I’m wearing my bracelets with this knot and no glue. Mind you, I don’t pull on them, I slide them on and leave alone.

I bought this because it is one of the most highly recommended stretch cords for jewelry-making among artisans. I needed something that can stand up to baths/showers (for hazelwood jewelry), & would not easily break. The polyurethane the cord is made of makes it resistant to corrosion from water, & very strong, not breaking down like so many of the cheaper cords. It stretches well, the beads thread through it easily, & it makes quality, long lasting bracelets. It comes in several gauges, but I opted for the thickest due to the nature of 24/7 wear for hazelwood jewelry. It's worth every penny.
