Hawk Kite Bird Scarer

Needed this to scare the pigeons from our roof, it works great, quality is good had been battered by the strong winds and snow we've had, some of the edging has come loose but doesn't affect it.

The poles did not connect properly so the thing came down 3 or 4 times, had to retrieve kite from neighbours. Had to file down the ends to get them to fit in the adjoining pole. Not clear how to string the kite together (no pictures) eventually got it up and it has made absolutely no difference, the pigeons still root 5 feet away from it, total waste of money. The connecting carbon fibre structure within the kite itself snapped and the end piece fell off to secure the kite to the pole. It is now in bits and totally useless

I agree with the much of the earlier review comments. This product is flimsy, it takes constant re-fixing. It isnt robust, and it isnt a long term product. One cant set it up and just leave it. I wouldnt recommend it for a farmer's field, for example. HOWEVER, it DOES WORK. Our garden path was absolutely covered in horrible bird droppings, the thick dark kind. As fast as I washed the path clean, it was drenched by the next day. We set up the Hawk Kite, cleaned the path the same day, and since then we've not had a single dropping on the path. The Hawk has scared the birds away. Even 2 weeks after the Kite broke, the path is clean. This Hawk works - just dont expect it to stay up for long without having to keep re-fixing it.

Sorry to say but I was hoping that for the price I would get something a bit more substantial. Anyhow, I did set it up, it got tangled up very quickly with the pole that holds it meaning that the kite wouldn't fly properly, rendering it pretty useless. Following that the string that holds the kite from the pole snapped after a couple of days of use. Disappointing...

Works a treat, moves and makes a flapping /rustling noise, pigeons and seagulls have not been back since I put it up, the pigeons have actually abandoned their nests. (I timed it between broods) Cable tied it to the tv aerial post. I don't expect it to survive strong winds but if the birds have got the message and moved on by then I'm quite happy. If they come back I'll buy another.

This has a number of issues. It gets snagged on the eye and the string rolls up on the pole. This happened several times and dismantling it is time consuming. Also the pole snapped when it was brought down to repair. When it is working it is actually good but unfortunately overall a waste of money. It would be better for if the eye was on a roller so this cannot happen.

This has to be the worst bit of rubbish that I have ever bought. A handyman fitted it up for me and he wondered how long it would last. One hour to be precise and then the whole thing collapsed at the first gust of wind. I gathered it up and took it to the local tip the next day. Incidentally, while it was up in the air, all the usual birds were quite happy to still come into my garden and the rooks which I so badly wanted to keep out just ignored it and came to reek havoc as usual.

werkt en schrikt af. Wel al een paar keer de fiber steel (vishengel) afgebroken door de wind. Maar gebruik de vogel nog steeds.
