Whats the true color? Blood Red or maroon red?

The Sindoor red is the bright red; the dark red is more maroon. Sindoor red is what I’ve always seen and used.

How is this made? What are the ingredients used in the preparation?

Used for social and religious markings and not edible. Made up of turmeric which is dried and powdered with a bit of slaked lime which turns the rich yellow powder into a red color. Hope this helps.
