Q: Can it be tightened to work on a 65L bag? There is no size between 55L and 85L.

The short answer 'yes'. I have three different size bags. The wire mesh 'XX' is the same size regardless of volume. If you want it tighter or the end hole smaller you can wrap it up with the extra length of wire that is use to secure the whole bag protector to a pole or other object.

Q: Can you wear your bacpack while this is on?

It could be made to work in this way but I think it would be a pain. You would have to undo the straps of the rucksack and feed them through the mesh, then you would have the mesh pressing into your back As you carried you rucksack. To qualify I simply use mine to secure a pack from the kids in the car as it has potentially dangerous (to toddlers) survival gear in it.

Q: What is the maximum circumference the net will open around?

I’m not sure since I ended up sending it back. I wanted it for a 24L backpack which it fit however, I was still able to get into my bag when it was inside. The opening is pretty big so I’d just say give it a shot and if it doesn’t work just send it back.
