Only Review You Need
I like it. For its price it’s worth buying. It can be noisy but just stick a small piece of paper towel in the little black piece that you hang out the tank and it’s quiet. You can also adjust that little piece for more or less bubbles. Just be warned it’s a small and powerful filter so you’re going to have to clean the little sponges every week and still do water changes every 2 weeks. It can also works as an air pump so that makes doing water changes the old fashioned bucket way a lot easier. Still vacuum substrate when needed. Any fish smaller than an inch will get tossed around by this. I think thats about it. Overall a good filter I use it for my 60 gal aquarium with 4 EB Acaras and 2 EB Dempseys. I do also have a sponge filter. More filtration is always better especially when you’re overstocked to help tame aggression.

TARARIUM Aquarium Filter Powerful 260GPH for 35-75 Gallon Fish Tank
I bought the TARARIUM Aquarium Filter Powerful 260GPH for 35-75 Gallon Fish Tank filter for my red eared slider turtle's tank (55 gallon tank with about 25 gallons of water). I rescued the turtle and honestly had no idea how dirty these guys are. I have had to replace multiple filters, so I bought this as a replacement and as a second filter to the one I already had. The filter uses no cartridges (saves $$), it has foam that you take out and clean each time it needs cleaning. The foam gets dirty pretty quickly but there is no additional cost for extra filters unless the foam detierorates, although that has not been an issue yet! It functions well and cleans the water and the filth well. It has a hose that uses air (I attach the hose to my a fake plants branch) and it creates a strong stream or current that my turtle loves to stand in, the pressure massages him! I have had the filter for a few months now and I waited to write the review so I could provide a real review and I am extremely happy with this filter. I would buy again and recommend. It is durable, quiet and my turtle loves it! I reached out to the company when I received it because I thought I was missing something and they responded right away. Customer service is good too! I don't know how it would be for fish, the water is pushed pretty hard by the air, but I am happy with it for my turtle!!!

Aquarium must-have
This filter is amazing. It keeps my water so clear. My wallet loves it to as I no longer have to buy cartridge refills. Just quickly disassemble, run under warm water, and replace.

Great filter but not for long
I purchased this filter June 11th and it has already gone bad. While it did work, it kept the tank super clean. I’ve tried cleaning it and taking it apart to see if maybe that would help but it has stopped working.

This model needs to be thoroughly cleaned every few days.
It definitely works to take out the sludge in your tank. We switched out our over the top filters for these submersible filters in our larger tanks. We bought a free different models. This one has a powerful suction and air flow. Definitely not for small tanks. We have it in our 75 gallon breeder community freshwater tank. Multiple high yield “dirty” fish in this tank: Plecos and cat fish along with tetras, swordtails, danios, loaches, geo, and angelfish. Why 4 stars instead of 5? The way this one is designed, the sponges compress in on themselves due to the sludge clogging the sponges from the bottom up and needs to be thoroughly cleaned every 2-3 days. The other models weave purchased don’t do this. The water flow pressure seems almost too powerful even on the lowest setting. It’s extremely quiet. Maybe just a faint “hum” can be detected when the house is completely silent. While not all of our fish may enjoy feeling like they’re on an unending upstream salmon run, they don’t seem to be struggling and the swordtails Corys are having a ball! Cleaning is easy to take apart and reassemble. Highly recommend using gloves to squeeze out the sponges. These submersible pumps are less bulky and take up less space than the traditional over hang options especially ones rated for bigger tanks. Clearly effective in cleaning the sludge. Keeping an eye on the ammonia levels just because we’re so used to the large overhang filters that we could add additional filtering media. These are definitely cheaper than the traditional filters. If they last as long and we don’t get an ammonia spike, they’ll be worth every penny. Time will tell, but we’ve been happy with the water quality and clarity over the last month.

Quiet, powerful, and easy to clean!
For context, 55 gallon freshwater tank and we’ve tried a lot of filters. After losing our tropical fish of 7 years to a Christmas Eve heater failure we’ve since had fancy goldfish. Goldfish although lovable are very dirty. We spent hours researching and reading reviews and landed on this one. It has one setting for water flow, an adjustable set up for air flow, it’s easy to install and clean. It can also be used for water changes to pump excess water out when needed. This is our first submergible and we’ve been extremely pleased with it thus far. The fact that it’s not $300, it’s quiet, our fish don’t mind the stronger current, and we don’t have to bother with additional purchases for media and expensive filter cartridges has been a pleasant surprise! We don’t have near the evaporation loss and our fish appear to be happy and adjusted well to the stronger current. Initially, they stuck to one side of the tank. Mind you with no apparent stress or concern. Video provided is with AC and TV turned off. We don’t notice the sound at all when everything is on. P.S.A if you love your fish and care about your time and investments set an alarm on your phone every 3 years to replace your thermostat people. That inexpensive thermostat failing killed all of our fish overnight and I was distraught wondering what could have possibly happened the next morning.

The Best filter for fresh and saltwater aquariums!
I have one of these filters in each of my 4 tanks. 3 freshwater and recently decided to give it a try in my newer saltwater tank because the filter I had, wasn't doing a good enough job. I honestly, cannot recommend this filter enough. It does an incredible job of maintaining balance in all of my tanks, with the added bonus of providing surface agitation and flow in all of my tanks. It is by far superior to air stones and pumps which are never enough to create enough oxygen in the tanks. Especially larger tanks. Cleaning is an absolute breeze, and replacement filters are easy enough to find. You cannot beat the price of this filter system, especially considering how well it works. I will be a forever customer.

Worked great for 2 months *updated*
**Updating to say that the seller reached out and is working to resolve this. Worked great for 2 months, now it's not filtering. My tank water started turning green. Took it out to clean the filters and there was nothing in them which tells me it's no longer filtering the water. Tried to contact customer service and of course no help. Guess I'll go spend more $$ on another filter.

Great filter
Works great. One of my favourite filters, but the pressure can't be changed and it is definitely too much for my 20 gallon! This one would be great for a larger tank

Not bad.
Not bad, easy to set up. A few reviews complaining about the air flow blowing their fish around and no way to stop/slow it. I just had to stop by Petsmart and purchase a new air line and an air line controller. I was able to adjust the flow of bubbles. Only 3 stairs because even though it wasn’t bad - it couldn’t keep my tank clean for more than a day or two.

Got someone's return
Upon picking up the box, water drops were falling out. Opened the box and the inside was saturated with water, the instructions are all wet and unreadable. The filter was in a plastic bag half full of water, upon inspection of the filter it's missing 3 of the 4 suction cups.......This is absolutely unacceptable....

Turtle not happy
Bought for Mr T. Works good/great for a 55 gallon tank. But it attack it constantly. Maybe the water flow is too strong. Hope he'll get use to it. On second day after purchase.
