So my winch stopped working ordered this new solenoid and with in 15 mins had it fixed and works like new very easy install

Just installed in my bass boat to power my Atlas jackplate replacing the expensive and unreliable OEM relay. Working great so far. Got the replacement hack on you tube. The only problem that concerns me is it gets very hot very quickly when raising or lowering the jackplate. I would not mount it near combustibles. Due to the heat issue I’m not sure about its longevity. Only time will tell.

Installed this switch to replace the bulky wired remote that came with my winch. It takes some planning and thought to mount the switch and solenoid in a good spot. The solenoid was a bit tricky to find a place to mount in my case, but I ultimately placed it in the under-seat storage. Because the way the seat fits, I had to drill holes in the box to route the wiring so it wouldn’t interfere with the seat. One complaint I have is the switch wire connectors/terminals were installed backwards, so I had to cut them off and replace them (in was wired as “out” and out wired as “in”. Easy to fix, but a careless mistake from the maunfacturer). Minus one star for that.

Paid a little more for this one, because it said it had clear instruction. We had to replace an old rocker switch on a 4-wheeler for a winch. The old rocker switch had two wires going from the switch to the winch and two wires from the switch to the battery. Could not but a switch for that set up. They don't make them anymore. Now you buy a rocker switch with a solenoid. The instructions were not that clear and didn't tell you that you needed additional wire or what gauge to set this all up. After doing a lot of research online, we figured it out. One problem with this new rocker switch, there were plug together wires from the switch to the solenoid with male and female connectors. It said to put green to green and black to black. You could not put the two greens together because the both had female ends, so we put them the only way they could go. Now the in out on the switch do not work the way they should but the opposite of what they say. We can fix the problem, just need to cut the connectors off and get new joiners, but we should not have to do that. Manufacturing mistake.

Got this in reasonable amount of time. Bought it to control an actuator that lifts and lowers my snowplow. Came with instructions and was straight forward install. Feels well built and I'm sure will serve me well.
