My winch stopped working, doesn't even click when I push the switch either direction, is this what I need?

Check all your connections first, including wires to the solenoid, switch and winch. Then try shorting the two wires going to the switch. If anything works at that point, it's most likely the switch. If you don't get any results with those, try connecting the wires coming from the battery directly to the winch motor. If none of that works, it might be your solenoid.

does switch mount on handlebar?

Yes, the switch has a clip-like device, which is bolted to the handlebar.

Is the solenoid internally grounded? My old solenoid I'm replacing has a ground wire on the outside that goes from the solenoid to the ground pole.

Grounded through the battery negative lead only. I installed mine about a year ago and has been flawless. Haven't even had to replace the batteries in the remotes.
