I've always wanted one of these mainly because it looks so cool. Don't know what I'm going to do with it but when the price dropped to $60, I knew I had to get it.

Overall, it’s a good small bowl adze not my preference. I prefer outside radius bevel instead of an inside radius, bevel came pretty dull, took me about 2 1/2 hours to re-profile re-sharpen if you know what you’re doing and know how to sharpen an inside bevel adze it’s not a bad deal, straight out of the box it barely would cut green alder. I mostly make bowls out of green alder and maple but it’ll be good to addition to my collections of adze’s.

Needed additional sharpening.The base of the handle could be curved more for a better grip. Possibly checkered the handle.

I've purchased many Beavercraft items and never had an issue but literally the second time I used this adze the head flew off and almost landed on my head. The wedge used to affix the head was very poorly made and the slots cut into the handle are very lopsided, this likely what caused this failure. The reason I give 2 stars instead of 1 is that the leather sheath is well made and the tool overall seems well made, aside from the handle. I'm attempting to put in a new wedge, not what I want to be doing on a brand new item.

Wanted an adze for bowl carving, but with the bevel on the inside it’s not the best for what I need. Didn’t come very sharp and had to sharpen. My stone kept getting clogged with a black residue I’ve never seen before. Got a decent edge but not what I get on gouges. Haven’t used on green wood yet.
