I decided to take a shot at this adapter. When it arrived, I was quite impressed with how solidly built this felt in my hand. The adapter is heavy and feels like quality.I bought this to open up more charging opportunities so I asked my friend who owned a Tesla to test this adaptor using his level 2 EVSE. He had the portable charger from Tesla and it specifically says it does not work with non-Teslas on it. However, it was worth a try.I was pleased to learn that this adapter even worked with the portable charger from Tesla. I charged at the full capacity of that charger. I plan on running more tests when I find destination chargers at hotels.One feature I really liked was the lock. It does not allow the NACS side of the plug to be pulled out unless the J1772 side is depressed. This means that when my car locks the plug in while charging, no one can unplug the NACS plug. To pull out the NACS side, I need to unlock my car and unplug the J1772. This was exactly what I needed.

Works very well. Solid build quality. Comes with a nice bag too. I would definitely recommend this adapter.

Using a brand new Tesla charger this thing sticks and is really hard to separate.

I was nervous buying this product but it actually worked well on the Tesla charging stations. It was easy to use and a great price.

This is a Tesla to J1772 charger adapter which means you can charge your non-Tesla such as my Bolt EUV using a Tesla charger. This has a nice looking matte finish and smaller form factor than my other equivalent adapter. Neither adapter will handle a Tesla supercharger, as these are meant for use with their overnight Destination chargers such as you'll find at a hotel, or a Tesla wall charger if you for some reason have one of those for charging your non-Tesla or perhaps you have a Tesla and a non-Tesla. It comes with a nice carrying bag, though the bag says nothing on the outside so I'd always be peaking inside to remember what's inside it since I'd only use this adapter on the rare occasion of a road trip (we use our EV locally for the most part). Therefore the bag is useless to me unless I write "Tesla adapter" on the outside of the bag, otherwise better to keep it in the original box or just keep the adapter itself in my bag of "necessities" in my trunk so I can quickly find it when I need it.

My car is a Prius Prime that uses the J1772 connector, but in the past, I've had bad luck with chargers often being out of order and not available. I was able to try out this adapter at a local restaurant that offers free chargers for both J1772 type vehicles and for Teslas. Initially, when I tried the Tesla chargers, via the adapter, my car wouldn't charge, and I don't know why, so I switched over to one of the J1772 chargers. Later, I tried again with the Tesla charger with the adapter and it worked. I don't know what the problem was previously, but it did work and charged up my car just fine. I deducted one star under ease of use because of the initial failure, but that may not have been the fault of the adapter. I just don't know. I did find the adapter to be well-made, and the mechanical connections seemed solid.

I love that this gives us the option to charge up at a tesla station. We are on the road. Or the summer, we traveled, and had a hard time finding working electric vehicle charging stations. Because of our experience over the summer, I bought this so that we would have the option to use Tesla EV chargers. It’s well made and comes in a nice suede bag. Great value compared to other options out there.
