No you dont only the av2 lead and adapter and the controller did not work playstation2 works.

Well, it could be lense and/or tray slipping. My advice by a slim line. Just bought a ps2 off here had it since Saturday. (quite old) and the motor may already be burning Out if this is the case with yours buy another ps2.

Sounds like it may be a coincidence. Have you tried a different cable? Perhaps the PS2 is faulty. Have you tried playing PS1 games? My one stopped playing PS1 games but would play PS2 games. I believe it has different lasers for reading CDs and DVDs.
