This chess set is BIG - as described. I could not have been happier with my purchase. I was looking for a tournament sized chess set for game analysis and also wanted the set to serve as a luxury heirloom to pass down thru the family. This chess set fit the bill perfectly. The quality of the workmanship was excellent. Delivery of the set was fast - it was delivered in about 2 days after ordering. I was very happy about this.The board / case was sturdy and professionally done. The inside foam holder for the individual pieces holds them tight and in place, although there were numerous pieces loose in the case when I initially opened it - probably from travel or stocking. There appeared to be no damage to anything from the loose pieces. The latches on the case work well and hold the case closed tightly. When the board / case is open and in use you will want to be careful not to drag the board across surfaces. It may cause scratching if you are not careful. I had no problem with this, but may just want to be careful. When opened completely the board is level, so no rocking chessboard while playing.The pieces looked great and professionally done in the Staunton style. They did not appear to be weighted, but were a comfortable weight to move around the board. FULL DISCLOSURE - Upon looking over all the pieces, 2 of the dark colored pawns appeared to be mis-carved or mis-shaped. Both of them were leaning and/or not centered. They could still be used, but they detracted from the symmetry of the entire set. No problem though, I contacted the seller via Amazon messaging and after conversing with the seller, I received 2 replacement pawns about 2 weeks later. Now I have a perfect chess set and am very pleased with my purchase.Overall, the chess set and the customer support was impeccable. If you are looking to purchase a luxury chess set, for a fantastic price, do yourself a favor and buy this product. You will love it!

I love this chess, it's huge, great pieces, they feel solid, look like real wood, and it's beautiful. The only issue is that is BIG, and I mean it, it's 53 Centimeters wide and long, so for travels it would be a bid hard to carry it with you but it can be done in a big suitcase and it would be worth it because it feels great. It's not heavy at all, and the place where the pieces are stored looks good, it could be plastic covered (or foam) but it feels really solid and well made. Yes, the pieces came outside of the space, it was a long travel here to Colombia. But I put them inside, close it, move it a little, they hold just fine. It's worth it, for the price I'm extremely happy because it looks like a superb chess. I feel you get what you paid for and more, really. I don't understand why it has so little reviews, probably it has not being sold for long, but this one is one of a kind. I searched a lot in Amazon for a good chess, big one, I could find any other that come close, that's why I paid for this one that is NOT cheap, I know, but as I said, it was totally worth it.The sizes of the pieces is another good thing, you will feel like a pro with this chess, as you can see in the pictures, the pieces are bigger than a man's hand. They come with a little rug under the piece so it will avoid scratching the board. When you opened is very even, no gaps between the center and the pieces can cross without any issues. The board feels very solid, it's a great buy.

Almost perfect.Nice set, lighter than expected. 1 of the bishops is like the leaning tower of Pisa though...any way to replace this? Also some of the felt on the bottom isn't great. Might have to replace on a few pieces.

Reasonable price for nice quality. It’s large and assuming and what my boyfriend wanted for Christmas.The only feedback would be to make the pieces a little heavier but I am happy with my purchase.

Nice big board that you can better visualize on. Pieces are a nice size and the extra queens are nice

The white lines around board are not aligned. There is 1/16'' difference between 2 halves of the board in size of dark field around squares.See attached photos.

Pieces are nice and large, makes playing a joy.

I love this chess set, it's beautiful I would highly recommend it.
