for 2023 standard, how many pints a day is the REAL rating?

Mine only pulls around 20 oz a day

It depends on how much water is in the air. Ours collected about four cups (32 ounces) of water from the air in a 27 foot camping trailer, about the size of an 800sqft apartment in a matter of about 36 hours. It also has a tube to connect it to a larger bucket, sink, or drain so it can run constantly and not worry about the reservoir bucket overflowing. It is not a commercial grade large dehumidifier, but it definitely gets the job done and makes a difference in a bedroom, basement, camper trailer, etc.

Is this powerful enough to help with the humidity in the living room?

Of course, my apartment is 600 square feet and this dehumidifier does the job perfectly
