This one is the best Marathi novel on Bajirao Peshwa. Author not only covers Bajirao's life but also gives detailed account of his father Balaji Vishwanath as well as good amount of background and history for King Chatrasal, Nizam-ul-Mulk and Chhatrapati Shahu Maharaj. It also covers Mughal court situation and politics post Aurangazeb.The story is written and moves in such a way that for every event, we get full background of what's going on in Mughal court, other area's and complete overview of situation that caused the event.We also get details on economy, administration, religion of Bajirao's time. The writing style is superb. Bajirao's battles, politics as well as personal life is covered very well.I am fan of historical Marathi novels and have read almost all of the available ones. I would read this one on top along with Shriman Yogi and Panipat. In details, this one beats everything else. Novels like Rau, while still good, do not even come close to this.Highly recommended for all history lovers.Note - I also loved Author's novel Santaji on Senapati Santaji Ghorpade. Do check that one. I wish he writes more works of other characters of Maratha Empire.
