I love this knife! Russell Knives (including Green River Knives) have been around since the 1820’s, and are made in the USA! They are a rarity; an affordable quality American-made knife blade. Made from 1095 high carbon steel, they come super sharp right from the company. Great edge retention and easily resharpened. It is a pleasure to use in the kitchen, but proves it’s worth in hunting camp for dressing, quartering, and deboning wild game as well. They also offer a 10” butcher knife blade if you like a 10” blade. I have built a number of knives from Russell, and they are one of my three favorite blade makers. BPS , from Ukraine, and Morakniv, from Sweden are the other two. For a surefire top quality butcher knife, I choose Russell Knives.

These blades are an okay thickness. They come a bit rusted on the tang part but thats fine. Was happy with blank and excited to matching knives for my dad and I. The box had a tag in it saying the blade was $16 instead of the $26 I paid. Went back online a few days later, I see that these do sell for $16 on a couple of sites. Amazon charges 6 dollars for return shipping, so it takes a chunk out of my savings, but its still so much cheaper elsewhere don't forget to shop around. Product feels pretty good and comes at a decent sharpness.

It's not the first time I've bought these. They are great for some of the more delicate trimming that I do.

For starters, I really like the fact that TKS ships the package rather having it stuck in a warehouse. Feels... comforting and personal.Anyways, this blade came wrapped quite snug in paper and tape. No complaints. Styrofoam peanuts and a rather sturdy box. No problems. Only thing to be aware of is that mine came with slight tarnish on the blade. One of which was on the edge. It wasn't like a blot if rust. Just some discoloration, which I have no issues with, just something to keep in mind. My other blade from them was clean, so I doubt it's a big issue on their end.I will update the review further if it turns out to be awful. For now, they get 5 stars

This is probably the sharpest knife I have ever owned. I have purchased $50+ knives here on Amazon which were pretty good knives but this one is downright dangerous if you sharpen it correctly. I love putting my own handles on them with wood from my farm so it has special meaning as well. I use it for butchering deer and just general kitchen cutting and it outlasts any of my special knives for butchering or kitchen. You have to be REAL careful though if you put a good edge on it as it will slice you so quickly and deeply with very little pressure. I speak from experience! Right to the bone.

These blanks seem to be pretty nice. Arrived fairly quick. They need some modification for my use. I will be ordering the rest of the set.

Good value. Blade is thinner than I like but it is extremely sharp! Threw handles on it and it is a good blade
