Perfect gift for my 4 year old great-grandson
I ordered this for my dino crazy great grandson who is 4 1/2 years old. The pieces are sturdy and brightly colored. There are also many small pieces, so keep that in mind if gifting to younger children. Our little guy was so excited to build these dinos. He did have some manipulating issues that required adult help. Honestly, I saw it as a real asset. I love to see Littles interact with adults! This kit allows the child to build 5 separate dinosaurs or combine pieces to make one larger dino. My guy really preferred the single dinos, because he could have them interact. You mat interpret that correctly as chase and eat each other.

Fun for child, work for the parent
Instructions were a bit vague with some assumptions needing to be made as you assemble the dinosaurs. Once each dino is assembled, you're required to disassemble some of them in order to then combine them into the larger dino-bot creature. This isn't too difficult, however it becomes tedious if/when your child wants to switch back and forth often. In addition, the design with which the "arms" attach to the large dino-bot is somewhat questionable to say the least.

Really neat toy for explorative and mechanical children
I ordered this for my nearly 3 year old son. I see a lot of myself in him. He's always trying to take a part and put back together his toys with moving parts. He's very mechanical, and he loves dinosaurs. I thought this toy set would be perfect for him. He lit up when the box came in the mail. We spent the afternoon building the individual dinosaurs together. Once it was complete I showed him that they all assemble together to make one mega dino robot. He liked the idea of the individual dino bots fighting each other better, and who am I to tell him the best way to play. This set is very cool. My only complaint is the quality is maybe one step above a kinder egg toy. The parts come in clam shell halves and snap together. Once together, the parts are mated with plastic screws, which are fun for the kids to install. The issue with this system is that the screws have little to no torque capabilities and seem to back out sporadically. Parts will be lost very quickly. One of the dinos has a pair of wings that snap in with little plastic detents. The right wing lasted about 15 minutes before the plastic nub broke off. I kinda figured these wouldn't stand the test of time, especially with a three year old that recently learned how cool it is to throw things as hard as he can against the wall. I think this set is a really cool product with mediocre execution. The label says 3+ but if anyone has a boy like mine I don't see this toy lasting long. For now he enjoys playing with the dinos. His favorite is the triceratops. One final thing, the color schemes on the dinos is very unique and really drives home the robot dino theme. I think the value of spending $17 on an item like this is in spending time with your kids and building fun memories. 4 stars for me. Would be a 5 star product if the quality was better, but I would also expect to pay a little more for that.

Sent a wrong part.
First things first. For the Raptor, I was sent two bottom right jaw bones instead of a right and left. That makes it so that my son cannot make turn it into a duel weapon robot since you must screw one or the weapons into the left jawbone of the Raptor.Beyond that, putting the individual dinosaurs together was pretty simple for me, but is more difficult for my 5-year-old. I would say it would be a little easier at 6 or 7 Years old. What we could assemble of the robot, the pieces get in the way of each other making the buildin more difficult. For the legs of the robot, you have to remove the tails to be able to attach the rest to the main body. The arms connect with a little protruding piece. The directions don't seem to point those pieces out so it is easy to miss..There are a lot of small individual pieces that can be easily lost. But each dinosaur comes with it's own screwdriver, so you will have plenty more if one of those gets lost. All in all, I am very disappointed in this product.

Super cool dinosaur robot figure puzzle!
This is a really cool toy for a middle sized child that has decent hand eye coordination and is capable of semi building things. There are 5 main Dino’s that can all be combined or dissolved. I wouldn’t purchase this for a child younger than 5 though cause it can get tricky! ( even then I’m sure you will need to help your child) I like this toy because it’s not only just a toy but also helps with hand mechanical skills for development! Great toy! Beware there are quiet a few pieces that can be lost though.

Assembly required. Not for 3 year olds
I would say this is more for 5-7 year olds, rather than 3-5 as the description lists. Good quality though and easy directions.

Excellent Builder Toy
Great toys for encouraging your kids with mechanical or assembly aptitude. Really like how it allows them to build the individual dino figures (Raptor, T-Rex, Triceratops, etc.) and then they can all be combined to form a mutant robot. The only caveat is that if you get these for kids at the lower end of the suggested age range, expect to be doing the building and assembling yourself. I would say that the skills needed are beyond only the most gifted 3-4 year olds, and will probably be a good challenge for advanced 5 year olds. The younger kids will still have a blast playing with the dinosaurs, but you will be doing all/most of the assembling. While not hard, it still takes up some of the time that you were allocating to keeping them entertained and busy. Finally, be aware that there are a good number of smaller pieces that could be swallowing hazards for younger kids.Over-all, a solid, super fun, creative toy that will encourage creativity and confidence in building/following directions, but know your kids' limits in terms of ability to assemble things themselves before purchaseing.
