Hard to attach the hose of the filter pump to but once set up it works great.

First one of these lasted 4 years, this one lasted 3 months very dangerous just started shorting out inside the unit popping cracking noises and flashes.

After researching tons on inline heaters, I found that amazon provides the best deal for the product. Given that the price is comparable to buying this little device second-hand from kijiji or forums, the purchase was a no brainer for me. The product arrived brand new in the box and within a week of placing the order. I have it hooked up to my Eheim 2213 and the tubing works perfectly on the 1/2" hose. Temperature is constant and it's a great little product that frees up aquarium space allowing the tank to be more aesthetically appealing. On a practical standpoint, I no longer have to unplug the heater every time I perform a water change and I don't ever have to worry about the water reaching below the traditional heaters. So far, I have not experienced a reduced flow rate of my filter. I can't emphasize the convenience of this product and I wish I had purchased it for all my tanks - it's well worth the investment given that it's only a slight premium over traditional heaters. Aside from a sump system, this is the best alternative for temperature control in an aquarium.

Tank heaters are uncertain business and I always worry about them. So far I had a stealth explode and kill everything, and a few less than a year old short out and try to cook the tank. Luckily my pants are always the first to react so I haven't had any major losses in my planted tanks. So far this is the most consistent heater I've used with fluctuations of less than .3F. Not too bad as the tank is against an outside wall and window,and it's in the 30s outside and high 60s inside. The heater does click when it turns on, even literally at the foot of my bed its not loud enough to be disturbing once you know what the noise is. Heats very efficiently as the circulating water is what's warmed. No having to position heaters next to outtakes, as the heater is part of the outtake. Definitely cleans the tanks appearance up as well. Will update if anything changes but as it stands I'll be ordering 3 more for my other tanks.
