How soon can you put these on a hob that is turned off but still hot? Is there enough clearance that the cover does not get hot too?

If you put the cover on while the hob is still hot, two things happen. They go discoloured a slight brown tint. They get just as hot as the hob was when you put them on. Have to wait until the hob is cool before putting them on.

How high/deep are these?

They fit exactly to any electric hot plate both in height and dimension.

I have electric hob never bought them when I had gas hob.
