Great value, nice build quality
Got this from a video recommendation and I'm glad I did. Worked pretty well for my applications, mostly reducing brightness from reflexes for a more balanced photo. I'm new to photography and so I can't really attest to its color accuracy, but in my experience it did keep the colors unaltered. Also, the possibility to adjust the circular polarization without messing with the neutral density part is really good.

So Far So Good
Just tested it out. I can confirm no X Pattern or vignetting on my Nikon 24-70 2.8G at 24mm f/2.8. I even was able to put a thin 1/8 mist filter behind it still with no vignetting, and at full ND (7 stops) its dark enough to shoot at f/2.8 1/50. Polarizer ring does take some effort to move but its good to know it wont go drifting on you. Solid build quality. I'm a fan.

A quality filter but not without some issues
Pros: - Nice build quality - ND adjustment lever feels smooth - Easy to remove and install - Good value for price - No vignette even at a wide 24mm focal length Cons: - Cannot attach lens cap of same thread size - Slight blue color cast in shadows depending on light conditions I've tried many CPL filters that were slightly more expensive than this one and were always disappointed by lackluster build quality and performance. I was a bit skeptical about purchasing this combo filter at first but Haida has earned my trust with future filter purchases after using this filter during two photoshoots. The build quality is fantastic, feels nice to hold and the ND adjustment lever moves smoothly along the groove. The case is a clamshell made from sturdy plastic and has a foam insert to keep the filter secure. The actual glass is bigger than the thread size which I believe is to reduce vignetting in photos, there are threads on the inside of the filter that could probably fit a bigger lens cap. The only issue I noticed is when using the CPL filter there is sometimes a blue color cast in the shadows, this can be corrected with some grading in post but it is worth nothing. Overall this is a fantastic filter that I would recommend purchasing instead of the ones that are $10-$30 more expensive. it's a great value that has exceeded my expectations.

Worked good for me on recent portrait session
5 stars for me. First time I used it recently on a senior portrait and I think the results came out good. It's easy to use and attach to lens. Be careful with the adjusting knob it can screw off and you'll lose it. But if you're careful with your gear, as you should be, it shouldn't be an issue. Just tighten it up after every shoot. Here are some images examples using this VND with off camera flash and softbox. Have not used the CPL yet so can't speak to that.

Worth the price 100%
Almost no X effect and no vignette, worth the price for sure

This is the real deal. Does what it's supposed to.
No dark X, no vignetting, accurate ND values from 3 to 7 stops. Easy to use, and the CPL feature works well to reduce glare and reflections. Does exactly what it should! I tested it on a 12mm to 60mm zoom lens on a Micro Four Thirds camera, so full-frame equivalent of 24mm to 120mm. No problems even on the 12mm end. The only downside of a filter like this is that you won't want to leave it on the lens all the time. With a minimum setting of 3 stops you'll need to remove it for low light situations. I tried to purchase one of the VND-only filters (no CPL), with a wider range, but found that those advertising such a filter were pretty much lying. Testing the actual range, it was far less than the advertised stops. And if you try to add a CPL to a variable ND, you start running into interactions where rotating the CPL causes increased ND values depending on its orientation relative to the VND filter. This one works like a champ with both the CPL and VND features easy to use and keep straight while operating. So I just bought a separate CPL-only filter for low light situations.

EDIT: (still) Worst item I’ve purchased on Amazon
EDIT: this is far worse than I previously reviewed. I couldn’t resist testing this further before returning. I’ve never edited a review. Buyer Beware DO NOT ATTACH TO ANY OTHER FILTERS. Ruined my B + W UV Pro whatever that arrived the same day. Amazon please remove this product as many people don’t understand how and why this item will damage their expensive camera equipment. PS have you ever had a $100 filter leave permanent marks after screwing it in a total of two total times on a Sony GM lens? I’m fine with receiving total Amazon junk when it’s a $10 price point and meant for a phone. LOOK AT THE ACTUAL REVIEWS WHEN YOU GO TO THW ACTUAL LISTING ON B&H (2.5 stars vs 4.5 stars on google and Amazon?). B&H is still somewhat the industry standard. If you need further evidence, just watch the countless “unbiased” reviews on YouTube, which all look like someone received a kit lens for Christmas and filmed it in their basement. The only reason B&H carries this brand is because it leads to upselling customers to the higher margin quality filters. I WOUMD HAVE PAID THE MONEY FOR THEM TO NOT SHIP ME THIS. —— I received the 82mm CPL and VND today, opened it and the filter had some sort of partially dried glue that got all over the side of a my 16-35 GM 1. THIS IS A CHEAP FILTER; DO NOT BELIEVE ANY OF TTHE SPONSORED YOUTUBE VIDEOS THAT CLAIM. I’m going back to purchasing actual glass. Worst purchase ever. SCAM

Professional Grade all-in-one ND and polarizer filter!
I’ve been using the Haida Pro II Multi-Coating Circular Polarizer + Variable Neutral Density filter on my Sony lenses for outdoor video and landscape photos. It has been outstanding. This is the closest thing you will get to professional high end Variable Nd's and Polarizers! Pros Combines ND and CPL in one filter, so I don’t have to stack filters. Variable ND range is smooth and makes it easy to keep shutter speed perfect for cinematic video. Polarizer cuts glare on water and boosts color in skies and foliage. Glass is very clear and the multi-coating resists smudges and water drops. Build quality feels solid with easy-to-turn rings and a sturdy metal frame. Cons Like most variable NDs, at the darkest settings you can see a faint cross pattern if you push it too far. Slightly thicker than a single filter, so check for vignetting on very wide lenses. An excellent filter if you shoot outdoors and want strong color, controlled reflections, and flexible exposure without swapping filters. It quickly became one of my favorite pieces of gear and it definitely deserves 5 Stars!
