I let the negative reviews on this product scare me away from it for an entire year, but out of desperation of need and the promise of a free return, I bit the bullet and purchased it and boy, am I glad I did! This is, quite frankly, my favorite kitchen appliance/gadget. That's right, my favorite kitchen gadget. It shreds cheese perfectly, slices potatoes exquisitely, cleans up easily. It offers the added benefit of being much easier on the shoulder than using a traditional box grater. Those complaining about stuck cheese inside the unit? I've no idea what that's about because I haven't experienced that at all. Sometimes it will become 'unstuck' from the countertop, but that only happens once per use and it's easy enough to tighten back on again. Nothing in life is perfect, so just roll with it. I love this little gadget! I wish I had more things to shred and slice just so I could play with it more. Seriously, you will not go wrong with this colorful little gem. Five stars all the way.
