OMG!! These brought me back to my childhood !! My dad used to sell these in his deli in New York. My close friend brought me some as she knows that licorice is my favorite thing in the whole world. These are the absolute best tasting. I have to hide them from myself lol they are soft like toffee and the licorice taste is the best.

As a teen I was introduced to the wonderful world of Callard and Bowsers licorice toffees (and their butterscotch toffees as well). They were creamy and delicious and different from any other licorice I'd ever had. They were ever so addicting. In the 90s the company was sold and sadly in the aughts their flagship licorice toffee (as well as the butterscotch) was phased out. I'd like to meet the execs who thought that was a good idea. So my search was on for a licorice toffee that could satisfy the Callard and Bowser itch. I tried so many and was about to give up when I read someone's review here on Amazon about these walker's confections. That reviewer too had been searching for a replacement for their beloved Callards and they believed these came close. and.they.do!!! These are magnificent, craveable and addicting. I don't have and Callard and Bowsers to compare them to straight up but I can nevertheless say that my search is over. It has been a few years now since I purchased my first jar and I have yet to be disappointed. Creamy, mellow and with a perfect balance of licorice. Not too chewy. Not too hard. I've now turned so many people onto these. Even folks who claim not to live licorice seem to like these flavorful little pillows of goodness :) BOTTOM LINE: if you like mellow licorice these strike the perfect balance of flavor and texture. They're not too sweet and not salty. Callard and Bowsers if you're out there somewhere I DO miss you and your perfect little box of licorice treasures. But these Walker's make me miss you a lot less.

Let me start by saying how much I dislike black licorice 🤮, I’ve never understood how anyone could eat it by choice. In February of this year we lost a friend and at her celebration of life service there was a giant dish of this candy by Walkers, it was her favorite candy. My husband couldn’t stop eating them, so I bought this container and when it arrived I tried one, and another, and another….I was instantly hooked on this stuff! The combination of the toffee, which is soft, not crunchy and the black licorice combine to make a flavor explosion 💥! If anyone is on the fence about trying them, don’t be, it is now my favorite candy!!

I absolutely love these! They are the best chewy toffee licorice I have had in years. I keep them in the fridge so they stay harder. And I live in Florida so I don’t want them to melt! They are so good! They are not cheap but so well worth the money!

Licorice authentic! These licorice toffees taste as they should. Bah-humbug on Australian types. So impossible to find real——1960 Woolworth style—- licorice. Soooo creamy with knock out flavor!

If you remember (and this is going back a looong time now) the Callard and Bowser licorice toffee candy, and miss it, this is as close as I’ve found. They’re delicious. Not an _exact_ duplicate, but delicious and nearly the same. Give these a try!

I can’t express enough how much I love this candy. It’s creamy, delicious licorice flavor, not strong like regular black licorice taste.

I love liquorice toffee. And these are my favourite. Nice and chewy. And the jar works out much better value than the bags at the supermarket

Lovely chewy liquorice toffee in a jar and large enough size to keep me eating for several months.it was a spur of the moment decision to buy and not sure i would buy again.I saw it advertised and decided to try it so i did.Dont regret the purchase but a mite bit expensive to buy regularly Glad i did buy and still have half jar left to finish..only eat 1 or 3 pcs at a time..my dentist cracks down on eating too much sugary treats if i want teeth and gums to survive..
