Excellent Camera, But the Accessories Have Changed Significantly ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
(5 Stars) This is my second purchase of the Vantrue N5. I originally installed my first N5 in December 2024, and overall I still think this is an excellent dash camera with outstanding image quality and very solid build quality. However, I noticed that the accessories included with the newer version are very different from the original version I purchased. 1. Power cable design The 2024 version allowed the power cable and the cigarette lighter adapter to be separated. This gave users much more flexibility because the camera could also be powered through USB-C. The newer version now comes with a cigarette lighter adapter permanently attached to a long cable. Although a short USB cable is included for testing, it is too short for normal installation. For my new 2026 Toyota RAV4, the 12V outlet is located inside the center console. Because the new cigarette lighter adapter is much larger and cannot be separated, it interferes with my aftermarket center console organizer tray. I would have to remove the organizer to use the new power cable, which is disappointing. 2. Rear camera cable The rear camera cable has also been completely redesigned. My original N5 used a 90-degree connector, while the new version uses a straight connector. Because I had experience installing the original version, I became confused after watching the current Amazon installation video. At first I thought something was wrong with the camera, but later I realized Vantrue had completely redesigned the cables and accessories. I think it would be helpful if Vantrue clearly mentioned these hardware changes for existing N5 owners. Despite these changes, the camera itself is still excellent. The user interface is familiar, the image quality is outstanding, and the build quality is impressive. Living in Southern California, where summer temperatures are extremely high, my original N5 has continued to perform reliably without overheating, and the video quality has remained excellent. My only suggestion is that I actually prefer the original modular power cable design, where the cigarette lighter adapter and cable could be separated. It provided much more installation flexibility and was more compatible with different vehicle interiors. Another feature I miss is the fully adjustable rear camera. My original version allowed the rear camera to rotate much more freely, which made installation on different vehicles much easier. I think it’s unfortunate that this flexibility was sacrificed in the newer version. Not everyone needs four cameras, but many users would appreciate a rear camera with a wider range of adjustment. Overall, I still highly recommend the N5 and hope Vantrue will consider bringing back that modular power cable design in future versions.

A Must-have for peace of mind for monitoring others
This camera system is a must-have anytime on the roads because it's not you who must be watched; it's everyone else. Recently, I was involved in a rear-end collision that caused me to collide with the vehicle in front of me, and the rear-ender drove off. This camera system caught it all and helped save a ton of time going back and forth with the insurance company and the person in front of me. Shot and simple, this is highly recommended to have in your vehicle, as it can help in emergencies when needed. This does have audio and video if needed never had any issues once installed, and it works perfectly.

Worth every penny!
Very happy with this product!! I previously had the s1 pro and I ended up upgrading to this one for a company truck. Pro: -the quality of the videos is really good -it covers all around the truck -the night vision work really good, inside and out - is really easy to install, it took me about 15 minutes to run the cable for the back cam - the warranty is awesome, especially if you register your product with them - the design of the dash cam is nice with a good screen size so you can navigate through the menu easily - I have this dash came for about a year and half and it never gives me problems, until a small issue came up. contacted costumer service and they were exceptional! Right away they give me instructions of how to fix the issue and even after the issue was not solved they immediately sent me a brand new one. - the wire for the rear cam is super long but it comes with double sided tape adapter for the wire incase you want to run it through the windshield - the power cable comes with an additional usb charger port so you can charge your phone. - I always leave it plugged in at nights and it never drains my battery - High quality on the videos and you access the videos on the spot with the app Cons: - it comes with 2 double sided tape adapters so you can mounted on your windshield for both front and rear cams, which it works but I would prefer suction cups to removed the cam just incase you want to put it In another car, but it does come with 2 so I guess you can use the extra one. - is a little expensive but it’s worth every penny especially if you have tools on the back of the truck Overall: I really recommend the Vantrue N5 dash cam, stop thinking about it and just get it, especially if you do landscaping or construction and always have tools or equipment on the back of the truck.

Dishonest customer service and Vantrue,, Misleading, defective product, and terrible support
I bought the Vantrue N5 specifically for live streaming and peace of mind. This product has been one problem after another — here’s exactly why this was a terrible purchase: 1) Misleading features / false advertising - I bought this for live view — only to discover after purchase (and after spending time and money) that the N5 does NOT support live viewing. That feature is only on the N5S. This was not made clear before I bought it. That is deceptive and unacceptable. 2) Defective unit and absurdly long warranty turnaround - My original unit was defective. Even though it was under warranty, it took EIGHT MONTHS to get an exchange. Eight months. That is completely unreasonable. 3) Forced extra purchases that still didn’t work - After getting the replacement I realized live view still wasn’t available. I bought an LTE device (~$160) and paid for cellular data trying to get live streaming to work — it never did. I wasted money and time because the product description and support were misleading. 4) Unreliable recording — misses critical footage - The camera does not record reliably. It won’t record 24/7, many clips are just black or entire days are missing, and the unit randomly powers on and off by itself. This defeats the whole purpose of a dash cam. 5) Horrible, unresponsive customer service - Phone support is effectively non-existent. Email responses are slow, inconsistent, and unhelpful. After all of this, Vantrue refused to exchange my still-under-warranty unit for a model that actually supports live viewing. Their handling of warranty claims and returns is unacceptable. 6) Poor value and dishonest practices - This is an expensive device that requires you to buy extra hardware and data to try to enable advertised features — and even then it fails. I’ve found comparable dash cams with true 4K live streaming and 3 or 4 channel full features for far less they range around $100, don’t believe me check out Walmart site, marketing and customer support practices feel dishonest and leave you paying. End of the day It’s your choice to decide , I thought this might help you out to whom you be dealing with. Good Luck!

Bummed. It doesn’t work.
Update:———————- So, I previously rated this a 1 ⭐️ because it wouldn’t turn on after plugging in. I thought I got a bad dashcam, but turns out I now have a faulty car lighter port. It no longer charges devices. However, Once I plugged the dashcam into the extra car charging slot I have it, it turned on within a few seconds. Make sure the green light is on at the plug. That’s a sure way to tell if you are feeding a current. So far it’s awesome. Lives up to the hype. You do need a SD card before you can start recording, which is kind of annoying but other than that it seems perfectly fine and still a great deal. My back camera was a bit stiff on rotating. I was scared I was gonna break it, even tho they have lines that line up for you to see how far it can rotate. I give 4 stars because the adhesive stickers they gave you fell off, for the back camera. Not the front though. Which is weird cuz the back camera is much lighter. Other than that no issues. Will update again once I get an SD card. ————————————————————— It just arrived. So far it hasn’t turned on even after being plugged in for a bit. Will keep it plugged in and hopefully it charges and starts working after a long charge otherwise this is a bust. Super bummed if this doesn’t work. So many good reviews online now make me think they’re bots and this is a piece of junk. Will update by this week but as of now. Not worth the headache. I don’t recommend.

Amazing Dashcam!
When I first came across the Vantrue N5 4-Channel Dashcam, I was honestly impressed by how much it offers. It feels like this dashcam was designed for anyone who truly cares about safety and keeping an eye on every angle of their vehicle. First off, having four cameras working simultaneously is a total game-changer. The front, rear, and dual cabin cameras really make you feel like you’re covered from all directions—whether it’s monitoring your surroundings or ensuring the interior is secure. This is particularly handy for rideshare drivers or people like me who are a little extra cautious! The video quality blew me away. The front camera shoots in crisp detail at up to 2592×1944 resolution, and the others deliver solid 1080p. What really stood out was how clear everything looked, even in tricky lighting. I like that the video is clear enough to read license plates. I appreciated the Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) and High Dynamic Range (HDR) features, which made the footage sharp no matter the time of day. One feature I loved was the infrared night vision for the cabin cameras. It records even in total darkness, which gives me peace of mind during nighttime drives. Plus, with GPS and Wi-Fi connectivity, it’s super easy to pull up footage or track location—it’s all right at your fingertips through the app. Now, it’s not all sunshine and rainbows. With all those high-tech features, the dashcam does come with a higher price tag, and you’ll need a good amount of storage space for all the recordings. But for the level of coverage and reliability it offers, I think it’s worth every penny. The Vantrue N5 has definitely raised the bar for what I expect from a dashcam. It’s tough, smart, and gives you that extra layer of security that you didn’t know you needed until you had it. Pros: • Build quality seems great • Easy to install • Built in GPS • Very clear video/audio • Can connect to Wifi • Phone app seems to work very well • Multiple cameras for full coverage Cons: • Unit gets pretty hot while recording. • Some may not like the mounting sticky tape (I bought the suction cup, which so far seems to work well) • Pricey and does not include storage

Highly recommend!
This is probably my second version of Vantrue and I have now (3) cameras installed in my vehicles. I have swore by these and told my friends. The biggest thing to remember is to get the high speed memory card or you will have an issue. Other than that, I love the dual cameras and various features that allow me to customize the camera and settings, such as display, if I want the speed, etc.

Very impressed by its capabilities.
If you want to be uncompromising about your car camera, the N5 is a great choice! Four cameras to record everything you could possibly want to capture inside and outside your car. Pretty full-featured and powerful with some cameras recording in up to 1944P with clarity while managing different lighting levels. Fuzzy license plates should be a a thing of the past. This cam will give you the absolute best chance at capturing all the important details when something bad happens. The associated Android app seems great to me, very very simple to use. The interface on the camera is also quite nice and easy to use. It's simple to navigate and change settings. Installation is pretty straightforward. The cameras use an adhesive mount which is helped by electrostatic stickers and a rub-on primer. Haven't had any issue with it sticking to the windshield so far. One caveat is that you will almost certainly have to upgrade your SD card. I had a Samsung Endurance 256GB (not particularly old or ill-suited to the task) and it doesn't come close to handling the sheer amount of data that this beast puts out. So for now, I'm only running the front cam and front inside cabin cam. A card with top of the line read/write speed is required. I'd probably go for at least 512GB because there are four cameras writing four different video streams in resolutions up to 4K. I see Vantrue has also started manufacturing these cards. Res is configurable in options, of course, but you'll want the max. The cam has a very sleek and modern appearance as well. Heads up display looks cool when driving at night. Overall, a really solid buy and I would definitely recommend it for anyone who loves dash cameras and their ability to protect you and your car. To take it to the next level, the hardwire kit is available for 24-hour protection.
