Revive Your Lawn with Avern Dog Patch Grass Seed - Witness the Remarkable Transformation
The Avern Dog Patch Grass Seed with GroMax has truly worked wonders for my lawn, and I couldn't be happier with the results. This product has proven to be a game-changer for repairing damaged turf and overseeding, making my lawn look magnificent once again. From the moment I applied the seed, I was impressed with the thorough coverage it provided. The GroMax technology undoubtedly played a role in the rapid growth and lushness of the grass that has come up. The transformation was truly remarkable, and my lawn now boasts a vibrant green carpet that I'm proud to showcase. What sets the Avern Dog Patch Grass Seed apart is its resilience against dog urine, a common challenge for many pet owners. The grass seems to be resisting the effects of dog wee, which is a huge relief. This feature alone has alleviated one of my major concerns and made my lawn much more pet-friendly. The ease of application is noteworthy as well. The instructions were clear, and the seed dispersed evenly with minimal effort. It's gratifying to see patches of bare soil transform into a flourishing lawn within a relatively short period. In conclusion, the Avern Dog Patch Grass Seed with GroMax has exceeded my expectations in every way. The quality, performance, and transformative impact it has had on my lawn are truly outstanding. If you're looking to repair damaged turf, overseed, or address the challenges of dog urine, this product is a must-try. I'm thrilled to give it a five-star rating, as it has brought my lawn back to life and provided a solution to a common pet-related issue. The product does what it says says it will do and I will buy again.
I found this product exactly what I needed I have tried a number of different products but this is definitely the best so far.

Good grass, didn't resist the urine though
The seed grew nice and quickly but unfortunately hasn't been able to stand up to the 2 dogs. Burn holes all over the garden even with some dog rocks in their water.

Good quality seed
I have went through lots of different brands of seed but this is by far the best. Takes a good 2/3 weeks to germinate but grass comes in thick and can sustains my kids and dogs running around on it. Great value for money

Preparation, watering and patience - success!
(UPDATE ADDED AT THE END) I made the decision to delay the start of this project until the temperature was over 10 degrees, night and day. I was fixing pee-burned patches so I removed all the foul dead grass and soil surface before filling with fresh seedling compost. I really firmed this to the existing lawn level as I didn't want dips. I then sowed the seed as per the instructions (I weighed it out) and then sprinkled a very thin layer of compost over the seed to hide it from the voracious pigeons. I gently patted this down and watered it in with a fine rose on my watering can. I covered it with prickle strips to fully repel the pigeons and my nosy, diggy Bossi-poo dog. I watered it every day. Just when I was giving up hope at day 7, I looked at, there was a marvellous and welcome green fuzz! Now, at day 11, we have 2 inches of lush grass, whoop!! I have removed the prickle mats and gently trodden the compost down to firm it as the growth had loosened the earth. I'm now leaving it to recover and stand up again for 3 days before the first high cut. I'm chuffed to little pieces so far. I will report back once everything has established on whether I think it is more pee-scorch resistant. I'm planning on overseeding the rest of the lawn in the autumn to thicken it up as I don't want to be watering like mad over the hotter, dryer summer months. UPDATE Aug 2025 - The results were ok for the first little while but it never really settled into robust, dense growth. I honestly don't think that it was any more resistant to pee than any other we have tried. This summer has been particularly hard on all of the grass but the patched areas have probably fared worse than the long established grass. We have sprinklers and did use them to fight against the peeing but for now, my struggle continues.

Good germination
Very good seed, quick germinate if you keep them damp for a few days, still waiting results on urine resistant, nice colour too

Doesn’t work.
I have 3 dogs and have been seeding/maintaining my grass for quite some time now and thought I would give this a go. Let’s just say it does not work at all. I haven’t even had any grass grow from it! RIP off. The cheaper ones that don’t specify anti burn form dog urine work much better
