I have bought a couple of stethoscopes before, admittedly very cheap ones, and they were painful on the ears. Are these ones comfortable?

Yes, as long as u use the correct ear buds provided, as a good fit for u, and also that u angle/adjust the ear stems properly..I found that a forward posture, from the ears, with the ear stems of the scope worked well for me
