I recently got this stunning wooden watch box and organizer for my bedside, and it’s been a fantastic addition to my daily routine. This is a VERY VERY nice watch display/storage box. It’s construction and finish are of great quality, and the packaging of this item is beyond anything I’ve ever seen (kudos to Holme&Hadfield).I could not be more satisfied with this purchase. I even managed to catch this on sale at right around 50% off during the Christmas season.I am so pleased with this item I am considering purchasing a second unit at the full retail price. This displays 5 of my watches with style and elegance, and the storage drawer comfortably houses all of my EDC items (except firearm of course).This is a purchase that you should never have any regrets, or second thoughts over.

The Curator is an excellent case for five watches. It is very well made, the wood is nicely finished and seems heavy for its size and very durable. I chose the black model and it has a simple but elegant look. I like the design with the double deck so all five watches are highlighted. The pillars are securely anchored into the platform, holding three watches on the higher deck and two on the lower one. There is also a generously sized drawer with grooves along each side so it glides open and closed very easily and cannot tilt. There are wooden partitions that make three compartments on one side and an open area on the other. A thin wallet will fit as well as several small items as shown in the pictures accompanying the description.I already have the Curator Pro version that I ordered for my husband, and I would like to point out that it is the same size and style, but it comes with faux leather pads to line the two decks as well as the open part of the drawer. These need to be purchased separately for this model and are entirely optional. I do recommend ordering them as they help protect against marking the wood surface as well as nicks and scratches to the watches or items stored in the drawer. The pads were available on Amazon at the time I placed my order for this case, and they were also on sale at a reasonable price. Make sure to order the pads for the specific model, as Holme & Hadfield has many types of cases and there are similar faux linings for some of their other styles, too. Another difference to consider is that the acrylic lid on the Curator (this model) has a lift-off acrylic lid, but the Curator Pro has a hinged lid that is easier to deal with. Both are thick and sturdy and look great and the choice between the two simply comes down to price.At 11.7" X 7.4" X 6.1", this case is fairly large (the dimensions are shown in the Q&A part of the description) but I was still surprised with how big it is and it does take up a good chunk of space on a dresser top or desk. No problem for those that don't keep much on top of their dresser, but may be something to consider for those with limited room or if buying more than one case. My husband has two cases on his dresser -- one for watches and one for knives, and together they take up all of the right to left space and about half of the front to back space on his smallish dresser. They look great though!The presentation is fantastic. I know a few reviewers have mentioned that it is a bit much, but I think the outer packaging is needed for protection during shipment and the inner gift box that makes this watch case a luxe gift that is fun to open. The watch case arrived in a sturdy cardboard box sealed in plastic. There was a gouge in one side of the box and I was concerned the watch box might be damaged. I'm sure that would have been the case if it hadn't been so well packaged. As it turned out, I needn't have worried as it was so well packed the damage didn't even go through to the gift box. The sides of the gift box are protected by styrofoam panels and the corners by heavy cardboard wedges. The styrofoam is not the kind that crumbles easily and gets all over the place). The gift box is also wrapped in plastic, and once it has been removed, along with a few more pieces of perfectly fitting styrofoam to keep everything in place, the box is ready to open.This is what I think of as the fun part. The gift-box has a matte black outer sheath that hides any hint of what is inside. After sliding the sheath off, the grayish/black gift box is revealed. The logo on the front is tasteful and not overdone at all. The lid is nearly the same size as the box, and it lifts right off and then the front panel of the box drops down to make it easy to slide the case out, There is no scrabbling around the edges trying to work it free, and there is a plastic sheath to protect against any fingerprints. Best of all, there is nothing to assemble. The watch case is ready to use and the box is so nice that it can be used to store other things (or just saved if the case itself isn't going to be used for a while).I think the price of this watch case is very reasonable considering the quality of the materials and workmanship. I am very happy to have found this brand (by accident while looking for a wooden jewelry box for a Christmas gift). This is ten times nicer than the wooden jewelry box I ordered and less pricy, too. I wouldn't hesitate to purchase this again or any of the other items from Holme & Hadfield.
