This is the real deal and it works. It smells awful and the manure smell lingers on my hands, coffee grinder, and anything else it touches, but that's how I know it's legit. I started making my own capsules to take before bed, and they worked just as well as the prefilled capsules I used to buy. 5 stars because it's amazing; but, I did decide to stop using it because it's so stinky. If you can get past the smell and are determined to make your own valerian root concoction, this is good stuff.

This stuff has strong effects and is very perfumey smelling. Almost like potpourri. I already knew valerian didn't agree with my stomach, and this stuff is no better in that regard. I found that a shorter steep makes it more tolerable. According to AI, this perfume smell and digestive upset could be due to how it was harvested. It suggested that I let it air out for awhile and allow time for some of the active substances to convert into other active substances. In other words, maybe it's too fresh? I'm not complaining. It might be top shelf stuff if you like valerian root. It's definitely the strongest I've had. Tastes and smells great imo, but I'll only be taking it on occasions... I'm kinda craving it right now tbh lol. Make sure to sweeten it. Stevia works great. And bear in mind that I'm no Valerian root expert

I tried valerian root to help me stay asleep at night—paired with chamomile tea. Not only did valerian root keep me asleep, but it also made my dreams extremely vivid, to the point of being nightmarishly real. You get a lot of bang for your buck with this product—as I’m still trying to get rid of the rest of it nearly a year later. The taste is awful, but can be managed by combining it with a more overpowering tea (*cough cough,* chamomile) and copious amounts of cream and sugar. The smell is worse than the taste, and will follow you into your valerian-induced fever dreams.

Bought to help relax before bed. I drink a cup of this tea about an hour before going to bed. I feel calmer and fall asleep faster. Highly recommend.

So after all the reviews about the smell, I still purchased it for my anxiety and insomnia. It does have great calming effect and effective if u drink it before going to sleep. But the smell is absolutely terrible, I kept in Ziplock (two of them) and it didn’t help much. Taste is okay, the smell is either from packaging or just when it’s dry. With hot water it tastes nothing like it smells. But half way through the bag I had to throw away because my household complained too much about the smell. I would repurchase if the smell issue is fixed!
