the full wrap zipper is a genuinely different design and it changes the whole experience of putting shoes on. the top of the shoe folds completely flat and open, so instead of forcing a foot down into an opening you set it in and zip around. that matters enormously if you're dealing with a brace, limited range of motion, or a kid who just can't manage laces yet. the laces stay tied and are only there for adjusting fit once. the extra width and volume through the toe box and the instep is the other thing worth knowing. these fit feet that don't fit in normal sneakers, and the two removable 3mm insoles let you take out one or both to get more depth, which is what makes an afo or an insert workable in them. they look like regular high top sneakers, which honestly is half the point. no one clocks them as adaptive footwear. the lining is sturdy and hasn't torn where a lot of kids shoes give out first. worth every penny for the independence it gives.

So cute I love the style my son loves them hopefully these ones last longer than a month we had another pair like these but different style and the zipper broke in a month so im hoping better luck with these because they're so easy to get on and off with my son's prosthetic they also came with red shoe laces and they look pretty cool with these shoes

Love these Billy shoes for the zipper feature. Easy for me to put on my Cerebral Palsied son's twisted feet. I bought Australian sheepskin and lined them for his comfort. Wear well over time. Great for anyone who does not tie shoestring. Nice colors. High priced. Difficult to find every size needed.

These shoes are not worth the cost. My son is 4 and has been wearing these to Pre-K only. After just 3 weeks we need a new pair of shoes. The bottom is coming off and the color is wearing off the fabric. These are worse then Walmart shoes. The zipper design is nice and he has no problem getting them on and off but for the price I expected them to out last the discount Nikes I got him last year. All and all buy something else.

Billy shoes are the only walking performance shoes we purchase they come with several sizes. Material is excellent. Appearance and colors are an enjoyment for all children. Great traction with braces.

I really wanted these shoes to work, but I've been extremely disappointed with both the quality and the value. One of the biggest frustrations is that there are so few options available for children who wear AFOs, so many families don't have much of a choice. At around $70 per pair, I expected these shoes to be much more durable. In the past six months, we've gone through four pairs. By comparison, my child's regular shoes typically last much longer. For a product specifically designed for children with AFOs, I expected better construction and durability, especially at this price point. I understand that specialty shoes may cost more to produce, but the quality simply hasn't matched the premium price in our experience. It's disappointing to feel like families who rely on these specialized shoes are paying a high price without receiving a product that holds up to everyday use. I hope the manufacturer invests in improving the durability of these shoes because they fill an important need, and families deserve a product that lasts.
