At 43, I probably shouldn’t be out skateboarding, but I’m glad I had these CTHOPER wrist guards on when I did. During a quick ride, a rock caught me on a simple curb ollie and sent me flying. While I ended up with road rash on my elbows and shoulders, these guards completely protected my wrists. As a mechanic, I have to protect my hands to stay in business, and these did the job perfectly. The Value for money is unbeatable. they cost a fraction of what a missed day of work would. The Functionality is exactly what you need for impact sports. The hard plastic splints absorbed the initial shock and let me slide on the pavement rather than snapping my wrists back. The Accuracy of the product description is spot on; they are built specifically for that forward-falling impact you get in skating or snowboarding. The Quality of the materials is impressive for the price. The stitching held up even after being dragged across the asphalt, and the breathable mesh kept them from getting too sweaty. I found the Size and fitment to be excellent; they stayed exactly where they were supposed to be without shifting during the fall. The strap system makes them very simple to put on and take off, and you can easily adjust the tension for a secure feel. In actual Use, they are comfortable enough that you almost forget you're wearing them until you actually need them. If you’re an older skater or someone whose career depends on their hands, these are an absolute must-buy.

I use these for mountain biking, I sized up, and I wear them over a pair of bontrager gel gloves. Everything is snug and tight, but I am able to hold my bars fine, no impediment or issues, and the keep my wrists from hurting after rides, they stop any numbness from pressure points, and i've crashed a couple of times in them, including a sideways front wheel wash out on a fire road where I stuck my hands out reflexively to catch the very hard fall; i landed directly on the palm cushions and had not wrist issues, or any pain at all from the impact. If I had been in just gloves or bare hands, I would have cuts and abrasions, and possibly sprained wrists, and this little guy prevented all of that. ONly 4 stars though, because I don't think they will last super long with tons of use / or a few crashes. No big deal, I bought a few pairs.

Well, it finally happened. I had a big fall ice skating and can review the wrist guards. While my elbow and knee are badly bruised, and I hurt one of my ab muscles on the way down somehow, my wrists are not injured! And I know I caught myself because I felt a tiny twinge on my thumb immediately after, but the next day, no pain at all in my wrists or hands! As a pianist, I’m grateful these guards protected my wrists! The guards are sturdy, cover a good portion of my hand, and easy to tighten as needed. Highly recommend!

I use them when lifting weights, they work pretty well. Also work for mountain biking.

I'm going to use them when snowboarding. I bought size small. You wanna size up your mittens if you wanna wear a wrist guard. I still managed to fit it under my size small mitten but I have a size M mitten and it feels better with that one.

I bought these because I started snowboarding this year and wanted protection. When I first put them on they felt sturdy and rigid. At the time, my only gripe was the fabric that was holding the two rigid pieces together looked like thin mesh, almost like ladies' stockings. My first two times snowboarding I fell A LOT. I definitely put them through their paces and they definitely helped save my wrists a couple of times, but they felt flimsier on my third trip. I don't think I can expect them to help me a lot more going forward. Because of these two negatives, I give it 3 stars.

Broke my wrist so ortho surgeon recommended now wearing braces to snowboard all the time . Stops full range of motion but allows enough range to function comfortably all day . Will stop a further injury of my wrist if I fall . Did have to buy men’s gloves without a wrist elastic to fit over the top . Nice to have the worry less day with them but still functional.

Update: 2 years later and these are still holding up great. Had a few falls straight over the bars onto my hands and no injuries to my wrists. I've had a few broken wrists so I bought these for peace of mind. I've done about 6 mountain bike rides and they're exactly what I wanted. I've even gone over the bars once and they held up fine. Gloves fit over and they're easy to get used to.
