Duct fan helps warm my shop.
I ordered a eight inch duct fan to help heat my shop. My shop is an added on single garage to the double garage of our house. The double garage is heated but my single garage is not so l cut an eight inch hole in the wall between the two and installed the fan as close to the ceiling as possible to capture the warm air in the heated garage and blow it into the shop. The fan came with a speed control which really was a plus. It works great but is a little noisy.

Excellent for smoking room
Bought this to add to a window to exhaust the smoke from a smoking room. 100% perfect. Best part is the noise is low and not the type that gives you a headache. The adjustability helps too when more people show. Definitely a good buy.

Only lasted 9 months, with 3 months of use
Has not even lasted a year. It was only being used for a few months in the summer/ fall. Only running periodically. Now it won't spin. There is power, but the motor has died.

Noisier than I expected, even at the lowest setting.
I bought this to improve airflow between my basement and main floor, but I found that it was too noisy, even on the lowest setting. I know it gave the decibel rating, but it's hard to know just how noisy that is in real life. I couldn't talk over the noise this fan put off. If you're using it in a duct that is far away from living areas, it might be just fine.

Well made and a good value
Well made and a good value for the money. I will be using it to ventilate an unheated crawlspace so I got the 8 inch model. It will move a lot of air.
