(Full disclosure--I am taking the time to review this product because the packaging said that I would receive an "Idea book" with things to build for leaving a review. My comments below, though, are genuine.) These are fun. We decided to get these because they have them at my son's daycare and they said he spent tons of time playing with them. I am glad we got them! We have had them for about two weeks now and he is still using them. They are useful as something to occupy him while one of us is doing chores, but I also have a lot of fun building things with them too. It's not hard to see why he likes them. The pieces are plastic but durable; the square ones are a little smaller than a coffee coaster. The advantage of their magnetic nature is that kids can build things even if they have limited fine motor skills--I found my son, who is about 20 months, had build a little tower with a gabled steeple-style roof totally on his on. I doubt he could do as much with Legos or even Megablocks at this point. They are a good precursor to more advanced building toys. They come in a durable cardboard box and at first I thought picking them up and storing them would be a pain, since there isn't much extra room to fit them all in the box, but because they snap together quickly, picking up is pretty easy. I thought at first they were a little expensive--a set of plastic pieces for $30--but it looks like they have some good replay value and are good for stimulating his brain so I think they were worth the purchase. Two thumbs up.

My 3 boys, currently age 4, 2, and almost 1 year old all enjoy this toy! I had been wanting to buy Magnatiles (think that is the other big brand's name), but the price just never went down quite low enough for me to jump on it. Saw this and the good reviews and took a chance. Well, it has been a great purchase! So much so I am about to buy my kids another set, so they can build bigger creations! Yes, you will want to keep the metal wheel axles away from very young kids, that is not for baby, and it can be a pain to get them to snap into the wheels at first but it DOES get easier...regardless my 2 and 4 year old totally love building vehicles and buildings...great non-electronic creative play! FYI another poster mentions that you can get an idea book for posting a "favorable" review and just wanted to clarify that is not true, the company does offer an incentive right now for posting, but NOWHERE do they say in the invitation it has to be a FAVORABLE review. My review is favorable because my boys love the toy...for that reason we would ENJOY an idea book..and honestly I think we deserve it being I am about to fork over the cash for another big set! :-) :-) From what I hear these are pretty identical to Magnatiles except better because they have windows too, though maybe magnatiles wheels are better...but I am happy enough that I plan to stick with this, and will try to get the big building plate too when back in stock. Seeing my boys enjoy this toy makes me very happy, they needed a little encouragement at first to get familiar with how to get buildings to be properly balanced etc...but now you can't tear them away from it...fun for kids, and the adults enjoy playing with it too. Oh one last small CON though...I think fitting all the pieces back in the provided case would be a total pain so we don't do it...highly recommend using a $2 plastic "dish pan" type bin or a $5 big plastic box with lid to store these in...much easier. Then you can just peel the sticker off the provided case and it use it for some OTHER toy. It is a decent case, just too tight of a fit for these pieces when you want to quickly pick the pieces up at the end of the day. Other than that, enjoy!

This is truly the best toy to have in the home for the kids to play with because it does not need batteries, and the kids will be able to unleash their creativity. We have three boys and they will often fight over the tiles, and then work together to build a bigger building or creation together. We have one son that has some developmental struggles, who plays with this toy every single day, and the best gift is watching him build something different every single day. I know that he is learning, challenging himself, having fun and building his fine motor skills at the same time. One of the greatest gifts is seeing my boys unleash their creativity by themselves or with their siblings. Of course one set it NEVER enough and so we keep purchasing every single year, including this holiday season again for the third year in a row. I have watched my boys start out by stacking these tiles in towers, to then move forward to build houses, cars, castle, and so much more!! This is a toy that is great for all ages, durable, low maintenance, does not need batteries and your children will never get bored with magnetic tiles. Even fun for adults!! Plus as a bonus it is a great toy for therapists to use with their clients.

Bought this for my sons for Christmas to go with their Magnatiles set- it works perfectly with them, but it adds SO MUCH to the set. I LOVE all of the options and variety for the pieces... It allows them to get more creative than they can with the Magnatiles. This set came with two "people" to ride on the train (or whatever it is)... The train is really neat because you can stack the tiles on it and then put them on a shelf. It also came with a drawstring storage bag which is nice. My sons are 2 and 4 year old and they absolutely love these magnetic toys- they will spend hours playing with them. We built a castle with this set on Christmas. My 2 year olds teacher was very impressed with how well he builds with them but we do practice a LOT. I like that there's no small pieces. I highly recommend this toy... This would be one of my top 5 toys because it's quiet, it keeps them entertained a long time, they're easy to cleanup, and they don't seem to ever get boring. Plus I like to play with them too! Now the set came with an ad for their other sets- definitely worth checking out. Wish I'd seen this before Christmas because they have some really neat options, ie. Train set of these, wheel base, engineer set, etc. Not all appear to be listed on Amazon. But if you found this set under "Magnatiles" search then try searching for "Magnetic Stick N' Stack" so you can find more of these sets. I'll add a pic of the ad to this review so you can see.

I purchased these as Christmas gifts for my three year old daughter and again for my four year old nephew. They are by far, the gift of the year. Both play with them every single day. It is wonderful to see them playing, using their imagination and not caring about tv or iPads. With kids, most toys lose their attraction shortly after purchasing but these are standing the test of time. It has been three months and they are still being played with daily. I recommend buying the largest set within your budget! This toy attracts kids of all ages. Our 13 year old sits down multiple times a week and plays with our daughter and he hasn't had a friend walk into the house that hasn't had to try their hand with these tiles. They are very strong and of good quality. There are many brands out there, these rank with the best and cost less than many of the others. We prefer the brands that have two magnets on each side of the tile, which these do. It makes their structures sturdier. Both kids kee asking for more and more tiles so they can build taller towers!

I bought this for my daughter's birthday. She turned 5 years old. She loves it. Her older brother and sister (twins) who are almost 9 years old also played with it for the rest of the night. The next day my 5 year old nephew came over and he and my 5 year old daughter played with it for almost 3 hours. My daughter is into imaginary play and has a princess castle with Little People figurines. She (and her older siblings) built different castle like additions next to her castle. The Little People figurines are the perfect height to fit into a one-story high Shape Mag building. I am so glad I didn't buy actual additional castle play sets and bought the Shape Mags instead. It fosters way more imaginary play. My older son (9 years old) is gifted in math and likes math/mind type games. He wants an additional set of just triangles because he is into making 3-D objects of all types. It is an investment, but well worth it at this point. I can see my 5 year old daughter playing with this for years to come. It is also fun for me and my husband to participate. I can only play with the dolls so much before the usual tea party gets a little boring. Now with the Shape Mags we can build a tea garden, table, decorative rug, garage, outhouse, castle addition, etc... I will be buying more.

My newly-three-year-old son is really picky about toys. He doesn't consistently play with anything besides Duplo and Lego blocks and construction trucks. We've spent a good deal of money on toys he barely plays with. Naturally, I was hesitant to purchase a higher priced toy for his third birthday, although the higher priced, quality toys are the ones I want him to play with. With a lot of research, I decided magnetic blocks were a must for all kids. Then came the dilemma of which brand. Magnatiles are the ones we see at our local independent toy store. They are also the most expensive ones on the market. I decided to search the market for competitors and narrowed it down to Magnetic StickNStack. Glad I went with these as they are high quality but without the designer price. My son played with it for a number of hours the first few days which is huge. We did buy one of the large boards to go along with it, but I highly recommend buying two of them if you want to build two floor structures. We are still discovering how to play with them of course, but that is part of the fun. I can see this as being a toy that grows with children, something they'd enjoy playing with even in early elementary school. I think the 120 piece set is just right if you want to buy it once or for an older child. My son would of been content with a smaller set, but I think, as we continue to play, I will be very happy I splurged on the classic plus set. The only con is it can be frustrating for both parent and child to try to figure out how the magnets work in some instances, but that is part of the learning and discovery and problem solving. Also, excited to mix these with other blocks and toys.

Three grandbabies and I bought this and another set. They were contentedly playing the whole evening with each other when they got them. I get reports from their Mom they can't get enough. Some of the sets are getting pricier and pricier, don't know if new sets will still be in the future at these prices but I may start looking for "gently used" unless the prices can get a bit more reasonable. With that one exception, love the product, the colors, and the way the kids' imagination gets stimulated. I can imagine there is no limit to the evolution and growth that can happen with these super cool tiles.

Bought for my 3 year old as a Christmas gift. $120 is more than I usually spend on a Christmas gift but it was well worth the money. The quality is awesome and my little guy can use them with ease. There was very little of a learning curve. Very excited to use them for years to come!

One of the best toy choices we've made. These get hours of play each day circulating through my 5 children. The younger ones are more into it, especially my 7 and 5 yr olds, but everyone enjoys them, even adults at the coffee table. Visiting children go straight for them. We have two sets which makes it possible to make very large structures that require more spacial and engineering consideration to keep them standing, and more complexity. I plan to purchase 3 more sets over the next year. Also these take up relatively little space when compared with lego and our rock maple blocks (2 other long-standing greats), but unlike lego and kinex (so many tiny parts) and rock maple unity blocks, these magnetic tiles can be easily toted along anywhere there will be a floor they can use. We also build 3D forms in our hands; the triangles are especially suited for this, for trips in the van or where there is no floor to play. Excellent!
