Kenwood DPX7100DAB Car Stereo wih Bluetooth/DAB and Spotify Control

Bought a cheap Mitsubishi Lancer for my commute. Lovely car but 1 snag... no ipod port in the model I got. So I decided to replace the radio. As the basic radio has that built in look, it meant replacing a chunk of dash. That came with a double DIN slot, and that got me looking at double DIN radios. That got me to the Kenwood DPX7100DAB.3 weeks on what do I think...The large facia is actually a very good safety feature. I can read it easily and quickly. There are preset buttons, a source button etc etc... so you are not trying to use a single rotating nob for everything. Again a great safety feature. The buttons are large enough that you can actually press them with size 11 fingers!The DAB radio works quite well with the windcreen aerial supplied. Much better reception than other DAB radios.The presets are relative to radio source you are listening to, so Preset 1 could be Radio 5 live in DAB, Radio 1 in FM and something different again in AM.The sound quality is amazing. I don't know if this is just the radio or whether the Lancers built in speakers are particularly good or some special Synergy of the 2. Much better than normal car radios and possibly better than the Bose "tailored" system in my Mazda 6.It paired with my phone easily with BT....and reconnects painlessly each time.No problems hooking up my beloved iPod with its massive collection of audiobooks.The icing of the cake was finding that i can load hi-res FLAC files on a USB stick and it plays those!Down side... the lighting effects... Thought I'd stopped them but some areas of the facia are still cycling through colours.Could not get the steering wheel controls to work, even with the interface module, but quite honestly i dont think i'm missing much as the facia is so clear and user friendly.

This is probably the best double din unit I have brought to date.Excellent sound quality lots of features very easy to use.The manual you get is very detailed and easy to understand, the unit looks great at night when it lights up.Very impressed by this product can also play music using spotify which is a great feature.

Very easy to fit and after a quick read through of the manual it was easy to set up.DAB works really well and the aerial that comes with it was easy to fit to the windscreen.I fitted mine to Vauxhall Vectra so needed an extra lead to convert the aerial socket and create power to my aerial.Also I bought the special box of tricks that means I could use the steering wheel controls to operate the stereo.There are a number of colours you can convert the screen to. The orange I used matches the Vauxhall lights perfectly.All in all a good stereo for the money... Not keen on the Kenwood app but that is by the by as the BT connection is all you need to play your stuff through the head unit.

I like the functions and the sound quality is much improved on the original head unit that I had. Installation was simple enough and the DAB antenna was also easy to fit. The only issue I have is that the menu isn't very intuitive, options can take some finding. I would however recommend this unit to anyone looking for a reasonably priced head unit with an excellent level of features.

Nice easy to fit unit. Simple set up and good quality sound. Comes with wiring loom and dab Ariel. Happy as long as it keeps going!

Good quality head unit that was very easy to fit. Clear instructions and excellent after-sales service from Kenwood. Just need a decent aerial to pick up analogue FM as well as DAB!

fitted to a mk5 04 plate golf. needed the extra fitting kit, only hassle was fitting the orange wire (illumination), it dims the brightness when u put ur lights on so not blinding (took illumination supply from cigarette lighter). dab and hands free work well.. looks great fitted and sounds great, well pleased 👍

Very pleased with this , easy to fit after getting the correct harness adapter for my car. Sound quality is good. Need to have a more detailed or the manual to suss our a few things but otherwise very good.

(25€ les 2)Esthétiquement c'est joli!Fourni dans la boite avec un adaptateur, un micro pour le bluetooth ainsi que une cage pour loger l'autoradio dedans et le tour du poste radio si jamais l'encoche est petite donc très complet

Ich habe mir das Radio bestellt, um das originale in meinem 07er Toyota Auris zu ersetzen.Nach längerer Benutzung kann ich nun sagen, dass ich sehr zufrieden bin. Dabei möchte ich anmerken, dass ich eher zu den anspruchsvolleren Menschen gehöre, wenn es um Technik geht. Ebenfalls sitze ich die Woche über täglich mindestens eine anderthalbe Stunde im Auto, da fallen kleinere Mängel und Probleme eher auf, als bei Gelegenheitsnutzern.Pro:- stark personalisierbar (Beleuchtung, Klang etc.)- Viele EQ-Einstellungen- Laufzeitkorrektur!- Definitiv genug Leistung, um die Serienlautsprecher laut zu befeuern (sogar so viel, dass diese komplett Übersteuern)- tolle Einbindung des Telefons; ich nutze häufig die Sprachsteuerung, Telefonie und höre fast ausschließlich Musik über das Handy- DAB- und Radioempfang für meine Verhältnisse sehr gut (wohne in einer ländlichen Gegend), ich bekomme über DAB mit der mitgelieferten Antenne alle gängigen Sender (SWR, RPR, DasDing, Sunshine live, Big FM und viele mehr)Negativ:- Spotify Control ist während der Fahrt nicht zu gebrauchen, da es viel zu umständlich zu nutzen istNeutral:- Qualität und Haptik sind ok und übertreffen meine Erwartungen in dem Preissegment- Menüführung ist etwas unübersichtlich, aber mit etwas probieren bekommt man alles gut eingestellt- Laufzeitkorrektur ist ungewöhnlich zu bedienen, funktioniert aber toll wenn sie eingestellt ist- Lenkradbedienung funktioniert mit dem passenden Adapter- CD-Spieler funktioniert, ich meine was soll man da erwarten ;)Ich hatte bis dato keinerlei Probleme mit der Handyverbindung, Radio, oder sonstiges. Ich habe meine Türen gedämmt und darauf das Radio abgestimmt. So bekomme ich selbst über die Serienlautsprecher so etwas wie "Bass". Ich werde noch Eton POW160.2 einbauen, und habe vor, diese ebenfalls nur an dem Radio laufen zu lassen. Darüber werde ich noch Rückmeldung geben.Ich kann das Radio jedem empfehlen, der keine 300+€ für eins mit Touch ausgeben will, aber gerne ein gutes 2-Din Radio möchte, welches genug Leistung hat, den Autobahnlärm zu übertönen.Liebe Grüße

Me parece un producto de formidable factura en lo que a output de sonido y ecualización se refiere. A la hora de su manejo hay que familiarizarse y quizás lo más latoso es buscar carpetas de un usb o cd con música en mp3 o flac. No obstante merece la pena y junto al conjunto de altavoces Pioneer que compré, el sonido en mi Nissan Qashqai J10 del 2008 no envidia a ningún equipo de serie moderno.
