if i normally wear size 34 pants, and want take take a subcompact, what size should i get this belt?

What I did was ordered the largest size since they are the same price and custom cut the belt following the instructions in the box. If you don't want to cut the belt, I believe they have a sizing chart that accounts for wearing an IWB holster. If this does not answer your question, I would contact the seller.
