I bought the Riverside Chaucer
I intend to read and study the Prologue to the Canterbury Tales. I still have the edition of Chaucer's Poems by Walter W. Skeat (1962), but I wanted to buy a more recent edition of his poems. The Riverside Chaucer contains a lot of more recent information about the author, the time in which he lived etc. At the moment I am reading the chapter on the pronunciation of Chaucer's English, which is very useful. Conclusion: I am very satisfied with my purchase. Johan A. Hyde

Extremely useful - explanatory notes
Bought a used edition from the marketplace: For anyone studying this, the paper copy is essential (and worth the money) as there are so many explanatory notes and contextual information included. I found this much more useful than any free online edition of the Canterbury Tales.

Buch wie beschrieben, jedoch kam es in unmöglichem Zustand an. Es sah aus, als sei es im Lager 3 mal aus dem Schrank gefallen, Knicke im Einband und graue Dreckstreifen an den Ecken. Eine Unverschämtheit! Ich kaufe Bücher nur bei Amazon, wenn sie bei Thalia nicht schnell verfügbar sind und ich sie nicht verschenken möchte. Ist leider nicht zum ersten Mal eine Enttäuschung.

Excellent work for serious Chaucerian learners
This book is extremely useful for a learner intereted in Geoffrey Chaucer. It is written in the original text with full of words translation, notes, and background explanations supplimented by glossary and other descriptions related to the orignal text. This is indeed excellent for anyone serious about learning Chaucer and English of his time. Ancient feelings and memory of Chaucer revives with the original text with much support contained in this book.
