So I do not live in the best apartment complex and my kitchen sink has been clogged for a week. A coworker suggested this and I am so happy he did. I boiled water put half of it in the stagnant water dumped a cup of instant flow then the rest of the boiling water turned the garbage disposal on.....I have a kitchen sink again! It really does work.

I learned about this product from our apartment maintenance guy, and it works.

I got some at ACE a few months back and I was very impressed with this item ....It doses the job.

Like other people, I've wasted hundreds of dollars on drano etc... and nothing works like this stuff! I will only buy this product from now on. I am ordering my second bottle now because my drain is old and really stubborn. I have long hair as well as two of my dogs that I bath in the shower. With the first bottle I just emptied, I used one cup to begin with like the directions say, and immediately, like others have said, you can hear it burning the hair and also hear the small swish sound of the drain clearing. So for me, it worked about 75% with the first bottle. But like I said, I won't use anything else as this works above and beyond any others! And again, my drain is extra tortured from all our hair, so I would need the most powerful cleaner in the world, and so far, this stuff is the closest to it! Tips I agree with others on that now I know to do with my second bottle: wear gloves! I didn't and like others, it itched and burned my skin on my hands and up my arms. I didn't even touch it at all. It was the fumes alone. So when using it, wash your hands and arms with warm water and dish soap frequently and you'll be fine. Also, just use the hot shower water to warm the line in the beginning, but after that, once you shove the flakes down the drain, heat up water, I did in the microwave till scolding hot, and when you want to add a little water to the flakes, use the scolding water. You will hear more burning the hotter the water is! Brilliant!

This stuff is amazing. It has never failed. It has cleared nasty utility sink that had never been cleaned or drained that we could tell. It cleared the kids drain and ours, which I know had tons of beard hair in it. It doesn't smell, it's not a liquid so it doesn't spill or drip. It softened all the gross and then everything just washed away doen the drain. I already ordered more

Ok so this stuff actually works. However:1. I blew through 2 bottles because 1 was not enough. I mean I saw that the first 1 was working because the more I put in and flushed the faster the tub drained.2. After the first bottle I realized I should deviate from the instructions and I did just that with the second order.In a nutshell the instructions tell you to run warm water to warm up the pipes, pour stuff in, run hot water a bit to push the material down to the clog, let it is a min, and then fully flush. The problem however is that this stuff is so reactive it begins to dissolve as soon as you hit it with even warm water and so since you are pouring it into the opening, by the time you flush it down you can see a bunch of it almost immediately get dissolved right at the opening so who knows how much of it actually makes it to the affected area. So I got a jug and filled it with cold water. Filled the opening with the material and flushed it with cold water. Refilled opening and flushed it with cold water. Only after doing that 3 or 4 times I blasted it with hot water and the letting it sit. I did that whole process a few more times and ran out of my second bottle. You can see most of it initially washed down with cold water instead of getting dissolved almost immediately from the get go.After the first bottle the water seemed to drain about 3x as fast as before. After the second I would say about 4x as fast. So most of the work was done with the 1 bottle/order but it seemed like there was still room for improvement. Those were my results maybe I had a pretty bad clog in there vs. someone else that can get away with just ‘1 cup’ as the instructions suggest. I find only using 1 cup to be enough highly doubtful. But for $12/can vs $150 - $200 roto rooter job I am pretty happy with the results.2021 update: It turns out that we actually had an old drum trap behind the drain. We discovered this when we ripped down the ceiling working on our kitchen below which exposed the plumbing above. Needless to say we redid all the plumbing and removed the trap, but that is essentially why I experienced limited results with this product. The trap probably prevents this stuff from being fully effective not to mention that you can’t snake through those.
