Very stylish watch with fitness functions
This is a traditional looking analogue watch that illuminates with your data in the bottom half of the screen when you raise your wrist or call it up. You can change what is displayed in this home screen. You can also scroll through the rest of your data by swiping. Brilliant. Just what I wanted. I can’t abide just having a black blob on my wrist. This is far batter and looks so much more stylish when wearing it throughout the day. The battery lasts a few days. The Garmin app is great and the watch offers the full range of health and fitness statistics including swimming BUT NOT stair climbs. There is no GPS built in but it will pair with a Bluetooth phone to track your workout. It will also provide maps of routes you’ve done via the App. You can receive email messages and notifications on the screen these call up when they arrive. There is no Garmin pay on this watch but if you pay more you could buy the Style version which does have this, the stair climb function, a better screen and in my opinion is even more stylish.

German quality and fair price
I absolutely love my new garmin vivomove style watch ,thos is already the second from this brand and it doesn't disappoint like the previous one. The battery life is good and the modern design delights everybody around. Eas to change strap that doesn't irritate skin. Lots of useful functions like find my phone one. The garmin app that goes with the watch is great, accurate and reliable.

Good but could be better
A very good watch, however it could do with the hands being white, as black on a black background makes it hard to see the time which is its primary function. Watch strap not good, replaced with leather one, ideal size, menu function takes getting used to.

Nice looking but rubbish heart rate monitor
Very good looking watch but a little difficult seeing the hands when there are lots of reflections. Digital display is also poor in bright sunlight. Step count doesn't seem to be as accurate as a fitbit (count is low when just walking around the house). The big problem is the heart rate monitor which more often than not fails to register my significantly raised heart rate when I'm on a rowing machine. Just reports 67 to 85 when it's more like 130. What's the point of this Garmin watch if it can't record this fundamental metric? I'll be looking to send this back or exchange it to see if it is actually a faulty unit. This is my first Garmin, I won't rush to get another.

Stylish sports watch
I am delighted with this purchase. I had a Fitbit luxe and the swap has been easy. This tracks everything I wanted it to including sleep, heart rate, activities, steps plus some extras. The app is very user friendly and I am delighted with the anologue clock face and colour. I have already received many compliments on it and wear it day and night. It is extremely comfortable to wear too. Great value and a fabulous purchase.

How do I loathe thee? Let me count the ways
You rarely come across tat as poorly designed as this these days. Even knock-off drop shippers on Ali-Express have some self-respect. But this is Garmin. They should not have shipped this product. Yes: this is a budget model, and I confess I was being a bit tight ordering this one when my Huawei GT3 crapped out. I thought it looked nice: it had real analogue hands, a slim form factor, a step-counter, a heart-rate monitor and so on. It did what needed it to do: I am no athlete. No GPS — that is onboarded back onto your phone, though as I tend to take my phone exercising with me anyway, no drama I thought. Now, in fairness — as best as I can tell — the step-counter and heart rate monitor work serviceably well, though it insists on telling me I had a POOR night’s sleep every night, however well I felt like I slept. And the Garmin app is pretty good at displaying your data, too. BUT. Having analogue hands on a digital watch is a bit like putting a horse in front of an internal combustion engine, and they are indeed a bit of a pain, because they tend to get in the way of the tiny display. Garmin’s solution is for the hands to shift to “quarter to three” whenever you look at the watch. This rather defeats the purpose of having analogue hands in the first place. If you don’t believe me, look at the video. It will then display a value on the tiny little screen that is NOT THE TIME. It is instead telling you how long you have been walking for. WHO CARES HOW LONG I HAVE BEEN WALKING FOR? I want to know the time! Now, this might be because I have set it to automatically track exercise when I start moving, and I could disable that. But interacting with the watch to start exercise is a trial because it has no buttons — not one — and you have to optimistically tap on the glass to get it to do things. Sometimes it reacts, sometimes it doesn’t. So it is easier to set it to automatically record exercise. This lack of buttons, by the way, is annoying when the alarm goes off, because it is a crapshoot whether you can switch it off or not, and the longer it buzzes the more the battery drains. I often find myself shouting and jabbing furiously at the watch just to get it to stop buzzing or give me some useful information. This increases my heart rate. Not the intended effect. The digital display is tiny — old codgers like yours truly can barely read it without reading specs — and it only illuminates when the watch senses through its gyros that you are looking at it. That involves the watch being cocked somewhat toward the sky. Of course, at night, when you are lying in bed and it is dark, if you look at the watch it is not pointing at the sky. It is pointing towards you, lying in bed. Therefore the digital display does not illuminate, and whether or not the hards are telling the right time (who knows?) you can't see them because they are not luminous. Battery life is dismal: I was used to a fortnight or so on my Huawei: but this thing is flat within a day or so. You are constantly having to recharge it. Upshot: I am currently in a haggling war on eBay to buy a second-hand Huawei GT3 to replace my broken one. This Vivomove junk goes in the bin. Avoid.

Brilliant watch, amazing quality.
Brilliant watch. Easy to use, plenty of helpful features, comfortable to wear, and fantastic quality! I purchased this watch after losing a previous, more basic Garmin watch, which I loved. I haven't been disappointed over two years later and am now considering buying another Garmin watch as a spare/different look.

Love this watch
A great multi-functional watch, the charger connection is a bit strange at first, but once charged the battery life is excellent Loads of features, including contactless payments Definitely recommend this item

This is really a great watch! The battery life is pretty great, the sensors are great for every day users, and the best part is how classy this watch looks. This watch actually works decently for fitness tracking. It is absolutely no replacement to a dedicated fitness watch like the 255 and 955, but even though it leaves me for wanting what those watches provide, it gives me more than I could have ever hoped for in its fitness abilities. Its sleep/awake tracking is scarily accurate. And its heart rate sensor is fairly good too. I do wish they had used their latest heart rate sensor because even though this is more accurate than many other devices out there, it still makes me question how accurate the reading is because I know it's not Garmin's best/latest iteration. Obviously if you are getting this watch though, it is mostly because of the design. And the design is precisely why I bought this watch and encourage anyone else with high taste to do the same. You will definitely want to get a classier looking watch strap than the one that comes with the watch, but the one provided with the watch works great for any fitness tracking you wish to do with the watch. I do, however, have a couple things that I really wish Garmin would improve. This watch is a different entry than the Garmin Style and Garmin Luxe, so I can forgive the plastic case to an extent. But a new watch with a gold/rose gold/silver/etc. case is long overdue. I like the design of this watch except for the plastic case (which still looks trendy, but not as classy as I would hope), but I still ended up getting this watch because the Style and Luxe are so outdated. I love the fact you can get notifications and even reply to notifications on-screen. I like the pre-set notifications, but I would like to see the ability to give full replies like my 7-year older Android Wear watch could provide. A speak to text option would be even better. These are options that I'm sure would be doable for a watch like this (so long as the microphone wouldn't ruin the design). My final suggestion would be to open this watch up to the app store. It has a full screen, and many apps and custom watch faces could still be added to this watch, even if they are more limited in options. In a perfect dream world, GPS, better battery life, and everything else that the 955 provides would be incredible to have in a watch like this, even if I had to pay more. But I understand the limits due to design, and I would prefer the design of this as a daily wearable over the 955 any day. But I will continue to use the 255 (eventually the 965 when it comes out) as my only fitness tracking watch when I receive it because it can do so much more. Hope this review helps!

Good watch for a very cheap price if you compare with others. The screen could be a bit bigger
