ZilberHaar Pocket Beard & Mustache Brush, Soft Boar Bristles

Love how small it is. It fits perfect in my pocket. It also seems to be great quality Brissels. I have had the brush for a few months now and only had a few fall out in the very beginning (seems normal for a new brush).

(ZilberHaar Pocket Beard Brush-Soft, B073MBT413) As a craftsman, I use a LOT of brushes for a wide variety of purposes. This is a GREAT travel hair brush! A "soft" beard brush ... not so much. I'd rate it medium hard to stiff. The skin feel, bristle density and stiffness is almost identical to a $2.00 plastic fingernail scrub brush from the supermarket (yes... I've used both, this is NOT a criticism, just a comparison). Bristle length and cut are great for scalp but for me... too uneven for a short to medium(5-20mm {3/4"}) beard. Set bristle bundles and bristle length vary as much a 3mm with some of the shortest in the very center of the brush thus somewhat irritating to sensitive facial skin. It *is* good for initial detangling. The handle... very nice! The best part of the brush in my opinion. A perfect size for daily pocket carry. *Update (2/19/23) Uneven bristle length was resolved by careful re-profiling using a pair of electric hair clippers. I just purchased an another ZilberHaar pocket brush as I was always misplacing the original purchase. GOOD NEWS... this brush arrived nicely profiled and SOFT (compared to the 1st). Just right!!! As for the original... even after months of carrying in my jeans pocket the brush has held up very well. Not shedding bristles or losing shape.... impressive! Changing to 5 stars

Just recently grew my beard out. I began to realize how right ones were who spoke of the need for beard oil. This combo was perfect. Not only does the oil give a bit of a healthy shine but I found it helps tame the wild hairs. I've added my own fragrance with a few drops of Frankence and Cedarwood oil. So his unscented oil was a perfect base to start with. As for the brush..... its small enough to carry with you. Some have commented that it's too stiff. Well, I've used both Badger and Boars Hair shaving brushes for years and I am partial to the stiffness of Boars Hair. I have two beard brushes, both Boars Hair. I don't find this one much different from the other. Personally I find the stiffness of this brush totally perfect. It will hold its shape in your pocket instead of getting crushed. However I'm not critical of those who say it's too stiff. I think it's really a matter of each to his own. My opinion of this beard oil/brush combo.... 5 star 🌟

The smaller brush is perfect for my needs. The mustache comb is useless for me. Tighter teeth might have made it more useful. The brush's soft bristles is ideal for my closely cropped beard.

I am really happy with this brush. Glad I ordered the soft! Don't think I'd want to use anything firmer than this on my beard! For me it's absolutely perfect! I was hesitant at first about putting it in my pocket because I was concerned it might damage the bristles. Well... it hasn't damaged mine whatsoever. Love this little thing. I hope this review helps someone.

Great quality brush. Use it every morning. Had it for years. Clean it out every month or so. Works great. Holds up great. Used a comb for a long time and this just works so much better. The size and form factor is perfect.

UPDATED REVIEW I have previously purchased 4 of these brushes in the past. I loved them, wrote a 5 star review for them (see below), and went to reorder my fifth. Unfortunately this new one is not of the same caliber of the first four. The bristles were not soft, but quite coarse. Using the brush was uncomfortable, bordering on scratching my chin. The wood handle was fine; however, please note that it has changed from the photo in the item description as there is no longer an etching of a boar on it. Obviously Zilberhaar has made some changes to their design. Accordingly, I have downgraded my rating to 3 stars from what was an exceptional 5 stars and have returned the brush for a refund. "Exceptional product. I have both the small and regular size, soft boar bristle brushes. Both are great, but I prefer the small brush as it has slightly stiffer bristles, fits quite comfortably in the hand, and is easier to manipulate than the brush with a handle. I have a short beard of only 2.5 inches and the soft bristle brushes are perfect for that length (or shorter). The soft bristles do an excellent job of spreading the oil and exfoliating the skin. I've already given one as a gift and it was very well received. Highly recommended!"

When I received the item, it was clearly not new — the condition of the box made that obvious. The brush is meant for facial use, but it’s so rough it could practically make your face bleed.

It's smaller than you might expect but when you use it the size is actually pretty good and the feel is just as you would expect - it does what it is meant to do.
