Bosch Tassimo Vivy TAS1257GB Coffee Machine, 1300 Watt, 0.7 Litre - Cream [Energy Class A]

Bought this as I was after nicer coffee than the instant rubbish and let's face it cafetières are nice, but a royal faff to use and clean. Ideally wanted a full blown coffee maker, but they just take up soooooo much workspace and with the Phillips Airfryer, toaster, kettle, microwave and Kitchenaid thing (I still don't know what it's actually for, but apparently we had to get it), there isn't much worktop space left. So this seems like a good compromise on space as its probably only around 25cm wide.Pros*Came in cream. This apparently was "incredibly important as bar the Airfryer all our kitchen worktop appliances are cream". I reminded her the microwave is stainless. She told me to shut up. Obvs for the rest of you there are other colour choices including military standard issue night mission black for any bachelors out there.* Is pretty small so takes up little space on the worktop and actually I think aesthetically it looks ok.* It does produces very good coffee. Quickly. We (used in the loosest possible term) tend to buy the Costa Cappuccino pods as that's what *we* like.Cons* In fairness they are very nice and cheaper than going to an actual costa coffee shop, but they do work out over 50p a go so bear that in mind as long term costs do stack up! I've managed to agree with she whom must be obeyed that we should limit ourselves to having them weekends only.* Because of its small size you do need to fill the water tank up more often that you'd expect. But it's actually pretty easy and quick, so long as you've not stuck the side of the appliance up against something as you have to pull it out.* The coffees produced aren't exactly big. For example the costas we buy probably only half fill out stackable next mugs. Again not the end of the world but worth bearing in mind if you like a massive cup/mug of coffee. You could double up depending on your mug size but Obvs this doubles up running costs.....* lastly this is the tassimo system and so far I've not been able to find any generic self-sealable re-useable pods so I can use my own favourite coffee in this thing..... But I'm still on the hunt!

Loved my coffee machine! A real bonus for my mornings so easy to use and not too loud!Doesn't take up too much space and easy to keep clean.

This is our second one of these. They have improved both the look and the function of this machine. It’s easier to use and rather more treamlined than the first , although it lasted about four years in constant use. There are plenty of choices to make, lots of coffee types and hot chocolate.

Nice and compact machine, replacement for the same model I'd had for over two and a half yrs which was wearing out

Bought this a s a replacement for a previous black model, which had eventually given up the ghost. This was at a great price and looks lovely in my kitchen.

Bought as a gift after careful comparison with other similar products on the market. We chose this one as we are not major espresso addicts- we prefer the milkier types of coffee. This brand of machine can also produce hot chocolates and other drinks making it more flexible and better suited to our family. We are also fans of Costa coffee and the possibility to have Costa coffee pods at home for this machine was a big motivation.Ours is cream and looks very smart in the kitchen. It doesn't take up too much worksurface space. 6 months on we are still using it regularly. It's a shame the pods have changed and have milk powder rather than liquid now as I don't think they taste quite so good.It is a reasonable price and good quality. I think it is perfectly suited to those who don't require the OTT espresso making rocket scientist level gadget. The pods are not super cheap but much cheaper than buying coffee from Costa.

Worked fine for about 2 months. Actually really loved it. I have used a Nespresso machine before and was worried I wouldn't get such a good machine with the Tassimo because I paid less... I was right. My coffee pod exploded on me this morning; I can only assume this was the machine, not the pod. Asides from this disaster it didn't take long for the coffee to start tasting bad. I have descaled it (which I shouldn't have had to do until the light showed) but this has made no difference to the quality of coffee. I have cleaned everything thoroughly and still the coffee comes out tasting bitter and burnt. For the extra money please buy a Nespresso machine, easier to use, better quality coffee and fail-safe. Kicking myself I didn't stick to what I know. Please listen to this review, I was sold on all the good ones but I think a lot of people write them after only a couple of weeks. I think they might say differently after a few months.

You know how good it feels when you buy something at a bargain price that looks good, is simplistic to use and makes your life even better!!! Well this certainly does that. Lovely creamy hot chocolate in the comfort of my own home and takes under a minute. Looks great in my kitchen. I bought the cream colour one and it was well worth paying slightly extra for. It arrived today @ 9am delightful courier dropped it off, it is the perfect size as its small, light and compact, the descaling disc is located under the water tank and is clearly shown in the diagram under the cleaning section. Buy it, love it, look after it and enjoy it.
