Quality Tool
I have had Dremel moto-tools for decades but my last one was a disappointment. I bought this one to complete a routing job on 1/2" 5-ply plywood. It completed the job with any issue and didn't get hot. The tool appears well built, solid casing and heavy (metal) internal parts. The motor runs quiet and without vibration. For the price this is a good buy. Time will tell if it's as good as a Dremel but it's 1/3 the cost of the best Dremel.

Not a Dremel, but works just like it
It's not a Dremel, but it has worked just as well as one since I've gotten it. I've been primarily using it for glass cutting and engraving and it's been amazing! It has variable speeds, but the first speed setting is fast enough, I haven't had to turn it up yet. It's got a lot of power for an off brand rotary tool, so I've been a bit hesitant to turn it up all the way.

A little disappointed
The tool works well enough. But frankly, I'm a little disappointed. The tool is plenty powerful enuff to drive much larger bits (viz. the small grinding bits and cut-off wheels that I use with my 3/8" drill). But the chuck is too small to accept anything but miniature bits. And the package's miniature bits seem like toys to me. I don't think that they will hold up very well. The rotary sanding cylanders kept creeping off of their spool, which was irritating. I would recommend only using the lowest speed. That will maximize the life of your attachments. IMHO, higher speeds are needed for only very specialized applications (which I haven't encountered yet). And high speeds definitely require high-end attachments (viz. dental quality). I haven't tried the cable extension yet. I'm not recommending that you buy a higher-priced tool. This tool seems plenty strong, but is more larger and more unweildy than I expected. If I were to do it over, I would look for a tool (perhaps corded) that is slimmer and lighter, and provides a more pen-like control -- and which would, ideally, have a larger chuck (viz. a full 1/4"). If all else failed, I had expected to use this system for manicuring finger/toe nails. Not sure how well this system will work for that, now.

woodcarving, super awesome and useful
I've used this for wood carving. I've made multiple wooden signs and a pen holder. It is honestly a great tool and has a host of attachments. I recommend getting stronger tungston carving tips. The ones that come with it are okay, but they do not work as well on tougher wood.

Amazing tool for the price
I first used this because a friend had it and let me borrow it and I was surprised to find that the price was so small for such a useful tool. I picked one up and have loved using it. I love the extension so you do not have to hold the whole tool while you're working on a piece. It works great. I'd highly recommend it.

Good choice for DIY / general use
I'm a DIY-er. I fix my own car, do home renovations, and then I also work as a filmmaker/video producer. I do a fair amount of customizing or modifying various things to work how I need. I've been wanting to get a rotary tool the past two years, and what's stopped me was I had decided to get the Dremel kit that comes with all the attachments and accessories. You can't find that kit for anything less than $200. So I decided to reconsider, as most of my tools at home are either Amazon or Harbor Freight purchases. I only use a rotary tool occasionally, so I don't need the best of the best. Better to spend money on good bits and a few Dremel accessories (which fit this tool). This tool comes with quite a bit, and it seems to work very well. The first thing I did was "break-in" the flex shaft by hanging the rotary tool and letting the flex shaft spin for 3-5 minutes. I had watched some videos about that, so I knew to do it. I've already used the tool a couple times to cut down bolts/screws or make small alterations to things. While it does come with an impressive set of bits, I assume the quality on some will not be great. It does come with some nice heavy duty cutting wheels, though so that's cool. I figured if I really need any of the various dremel attachments, I'll buy them as I need them. For someone like me, this kit is probably the best bang for your buck and comes with the most accessories.

The worst and tool ive ever purchased. And remarkably dangerous.
Im not sure how this product has so many great reviews. It is as expected for a tool of its price. It worked all of about 2 weeks. The first part to immediately break the first day of use was the pen extension. Worked one time. The second i took it off the entire piece shot apart loaded by the spring inside. Next, the locking mechanism that holds the attachments, literally the most important part of the device lasted 2-3 weeks. Of probably 1-2 days a week of use for maybe 2 hours a day, stopped locking attachments in place and the second it started rotating it would unlock itself and the attachment would dangerously spin in place waiting to fly off and take an eye out. Its simple enough to use, but of course a dremel is a dremel. The wheel is simple to use because its a wheel. The speed variable isnt important because the device doesnt have enough power for any speed except for wide open to be useful. Size and design, all normal for the type of device youre buying. Now normally i would read a review like this and think "this is just a bias review from a negative nancy that would have been hyper critical no matter what" and "you knew what you were buying", but listen yall. If you cant afford a real dremel do yourself a huge favor and just wait until you can. I bought a name brand dremel yesterday and im coming back to write this review because i was so impressed by the quality, the feel, the function and power and intuitive ease of use, that i felt it my civic duty to warn everybody just to spend a little extra when you buy your tools no matter how small the hobbies youre using them for, and you'll save yourself so much frustration. Youre just throwing your money into the aether when you buy cheap mass manufactured chinese crap like this. Ive had some cheap tools that were great from harbor freight, chicago electric and bauer specifically where you can spend $20 and get a tool that would last a casual hobbyist 10 years. I CANNOT EXPRESS ENOUGH THE JUNK THAT THIS TOOL IS. If you read all of my rant, thank you for listening

Excellent!
Use it all the time for my ship modelling hobby. It’s easy to use and comes with a lot of interchangeable bits. I’d never used anything like this before. It’s very intuitive.

Surprisingly good
Was expecting cheap crap but I was genuinely surprised how capable this was for stripping paint and cutting metal rods. I’d recommend buying more accessories, especially wire wheels cause the ones included were gone in 30 seconds. Glad they cheaped out on bits instead of the tool cause I jammed it a few times, ran it for an hour straight, used it all day, and it still keeps going. This would be good for engraving tail lights with the wand and ball end, I got a feeling this was a worthwhile investment. We’ll see if it survives another weekend project

Great Tool !!
This is a great Dremel and really great value for the money. I really love the extension handle and variable speeds for fine detail work. The assortment of attachments are fantastic. Highly recommend.

Very powerful!
Overall this item is amazing!! The only thing that lost it a star is that the small dremel piece gets hot and will melt the plastic on the cord. Tons of power and works so great! Highly recommend this product!
