I wanted a clamp desk lamp to help in my studio I thought this would be ideal. Plus it came with the bulb. The lamp is nice to be honest. Very customisable to help you light up any areas! However it is slightly smaller than I thought still I’m not letting that effect the rating as it was my fault for not checking the measurements!! The lamp overall feels very strong and sturdy, the clamp part is mainly plastic but still works but not as sturdy compared to using the solid base. (Which also comes supplied)If you are looking for a basic and small lamp that shines pretty bright, has a good build with plenty of flexibility then you will be happy with this. The clamp option works fine too however if you are moving it about a lot the clamp will have to be tightened once a while.Overall however happy with my purchase and although I don’t use it for my studio I do use it at home on my desk!

As someone-else said, there's a metal tab bent inwards on the frame section at the bottom of the lower arm, which prevents it from being moved as far as you'd hope in one direction. This makes the range of movement of the arms less than you'd expect.The weighted base is nowhere near heavy enough. I think one reason the tab prevents a decent range of arm movement is that if the arms could move more, the light would topple over.On mine the plastic underneath surface of the base was convex (ie dished outwards). Although there's positions that look as it they show where rubber feet could be stuck on to the base, there were no feet, and between the lack of feet and the dished-outward base, the light would not sit in a stable way on a flat surface. I added self-stick felt feet which helped its stability, but still (because the base isn't heavy enough) the light does not feel stable unless the lamp is more or less immediately above the base - that is you can't have the arms stretched out quite flat to one side.I've not tried the clamp; it possibly works better than the base.Mine came with a 6500K LED bulb, which produces a harsh white light. I replaced it with a 2700K bulb which is a much softer, warmer light, much easier on the eyes.Despite the disadvantages, the lamp looks good. The black and chrome metal parts seem well made and should be stronger than the plastic parts found on some lamps. Fortunately the limited range of stable movement of the arms is not a problem for what I want to use it for, and - for the price - I'm fairly happy.

Bought for my husband for an anniversary present and he is very pleased with it. It's small and neat and does the job. He wanted it on his bedside table for reading in bed. The bulb in it is the kind that doesn't use a lot of electricity and yet is bright enough to be able to turn off the big light, so hopefully using less electricity.

I have purchased many lamps over the years, however this one ticks every box. It’s affordable, very well constructed and has the flexibility to be positioned on your desk or clipped using the holder. Exceptional lighting - lights my entire desk. This is the 2nd one I have purchased, have one at work and at home.

Purchased this for my wife as she does needlecraft in the evenings, we have a corner lamp but she always struggle to thread needles. After viewing countless lamps I decided to go for this lamp, I have to say that it is very bright and extremely sturdy. The base has a good weight to it making it ideal with the movement of the arm, you can easily move the arm to different angles without the lamp base sliding.My wife is so pleased with the lamp and now can enjoy her needlework whilst watching her favourite tv shows in the evening.

Good value. Would buy a wider product next time. Adequate for me though

Have been looking for a suitable adjustable desk light and this fits the bill very well.
