My NEW Favorite Shoe
First off, I'm a shoe nerd. I admit it. Growing up my Dad would buy us only 𝙏𝙃𝙀 cheapest shoes he could find. They were so bad that we'd wear them out in a couple of months and I should be honest, I am not hard on my shoes, either (my older brother was a different story). Didn't make a difference. My Dad would rather buy us a pair of new shoes for $20 every couple months rather than spend $35 on ONE pair that would last at least a year (if not more). As a result, when I finally got a job and could buy my own, I had quite a collection. A habit I continue to this day. With that in mind, within the last year I've purchased 2 other pairs of New Balance trail running shoes which were (at that time) the most comfortable pairs of shoes I had ever purchased. Since then I bought a pair of Brooks Ghost Max which replaced those as the most comfortable pair of shoes I had ever owned. The Fresh Foam X have now replaced (by a slim margin) my Brooks for sheer comfort. I don't really run, but I DO an awful lot of hiking and walking. So strict comfort is pretty important to me. These shoes are simply brilliant in how comfortable they are. The previously mentioned New Balance Trail runners were, for a lack of a better term, had almost too much cushion. I know, how can a shoe have TOO much cushion? Well, those do...at least for me. For instance, I would never wear them for weight training, especially doing the dead lift. The cushion is SO pronounced that I'd be worried they could pull me off balance a little too easily. But then again, they aren't designed for weight lifting, so just keep that in mind. The Foam X shoes are a perfect balance between great cushion and sheer comfort. It must be hard for companies to achieve that balance without going too far but Kudo's to NB for pulling it off. The soles aren't as durable as the trail runners perhaps, but oh man are they a joy to wear. Again, since I don't run I cannot speak to how stable they'd be at doing any long/short distance running but man am I happy with mine. Overall 𝙏𝙃𝙀 most comfortable shoes I own (and I own a LOT). I am VERY satisfied with my purchase.

Clouds, or marshmallows, it's hard to decide but they are so comfy
I originally bought these to be used as my slow, long run shoes, but find that they are so easy to run in that I always end up running a tempo run in them. They are so soft, yet responsive and my knees and back do not hurt after a 10k in them at race pace. The only problem I have with them is they are HOT. On a hot summer day, your feet will sweat like crazy in them, so it is best to run when it's cool else you might end up with wet shoes haha. New Balance really hit it out of the park with these. They are my favourite shoes next to Saucony Hurricanes (which were discontinued), and I feel that I may need to get more pairs in the future. Fit was true to size in length, but the wide (2E) is really wide and feels more like a 3E to myself and I am forced to use ankle lockdown to keep my feet from sloshing around during the first half of my run.

Awesome For Walking and Every Day Use
First off, I’m a heavy-ish runner, 190lbs- so take this review from that standpoint. My initial step in reaction was “wow” they are SO cushy and comfortable. The footbed, heel collar, and tongue are all extremely comfortable. They have a really nice glove like fit (true to size). However, as cushy as they are they are also mushy feeling when running. As a heavy runner I feel like I often bottom out on my strides in these shoes. The cushion is GREAT, but the energy return is nonexistent. Overall I really enjoy these shoes for walking around and all day comfort. However, I don’t love them for running as I feel they lack the bounce that I desire.

Cushion for miles. I have plantar fascia and I tested these 10 shoes for cushion
I ordered the following shoes that were recommended in running shoes articles as having allot of cushion in the heel. New Balance Fresh Foam X More - Has the most cushioning out of all the shoes tested. They are almost to much cushion. I'm not sure about running on them yet as I'm healing from the injury. They are my favorite for walking. Asics Gel Kayano 28 - Very soft heel and it would do the job. Built for a runner (sleek). front of sole is a little thin when compared to the New Blance Fresh Foam X More but it's good for a runner. ALL OF THE FOLLOWING WERE NOT ENOUGH CUSHION: Brooks Glycerin 20's - Not enough cushion Brooks Adrenaline GTS 22 - Not enough cushion Hoka Bondi 8 - Not enough cushion Hoka Gavoloti 4 & 5 - Not enough cushion Brooks Ghost 15 - Not enough cushion ASICS Novablast 3 - Not enough cushion On Cloudmonster - Not enough cushion Hopefully this saves you from ordering 10 pairs of shoes like I did. For my plantar fascia injury I selected New Balance Fresh Foam X More and the Asics Gel Kayano 28 New Balance has an insane amount of cushion (maybe to much) for some. Asics Gel Kanyano 28 has the cushion gell heel and is sleek for a runner. I kept BOTH

It's All True, Positive and Negative
I've never seen a product more accurately represented by both the one-star and five-star reviews on Amazon. But here it is. The New Balance Men's Fresh Foam X comes out of the box in all of its super-padded glory. Now having worn it nearly every day for two months, I can safely say the good and bad are both true. Suffering plantar fasciitis since January, I tried a number of shoes to help alleviate the pain: Adidas, Under Armour, and two different pairs of ASICS. The pain was excruciating at times. With these shoes, and some athletic tape at times, I have been able to get walking again on a daily basis. The New Balance Men's Fresh Foam X shoes are almost comically padded when you first put them on. They feel like you've wrapped your feet in several layers of bubble wrap. Personally, I wasn't sure I could even walk in them. But you get used to them, and the foam wears in a little bit, so the shock goes away. Like others have mentioned, there are three sore spots for me wearing the shoes. First, the heel has a sort of padded plastic cup that gave me a blister to the point where I put athletic tape on that one spot every single time I wear the shoe. Next, my right pinky toe gets smooshed on one side, despite the shoes seeming to be too large. Lastly, the tongue is ALWAYS rolled up on the edges every single time I put on the shoe. If I work my fingers from the middle-out, I can flatten it so it isn't such an irritant. But I have never hated a shoe tongue before buying these. Overall, the positives outweigh the negatives for me. I'm walking without pain. I think you get exactly what you pay for with these New Balance. UPDATE: I bought a pair of Hoka Clifton 9 shoes. They didn't produce heel blisters, and actually worked even better for my plantar fasciitis than the New Balance. I wear both, but the New Balance have been downgraded to my rainy day mudder shoes. In fact, I just bought two new pairs of Hokas on Black Friday sales, so needless to say I'm done with New Balance. They are okay, not great, and at over $100 a pair they should be better than they are.

Awesome performance, stability and recovery shoe just received the wrong color.
Ordered cobalt blue but received grey. Wrong description label was put over the original product description on box. Being in Australia returning this awesome runner is really silly. Correct product and size. Awesome performance, stability and decompression shoe. Very soft and forgiving, but a little tight across. Once run in and time in between sessions to give foam time to decompress i am impressed! For 4-year-old new stock exceeded my expectations. Ordered a 2nd, 3rd and 4th 5th 6th ect pair, but went up a size because a wide in this size just isn't available on Amazon anymore. My rotation is now complete!
