The stylus is a perfect match for the 'new' Nintendo 3DS XL
The stylus fitted perfectly into my 'new' Nintendo 3DS XL. It is retained effectively so that it doesn't fall out of the 3DS when it is moved. The stylus has a smooth tip which does not mar the screen.

Not for New 3DS XL
They are not compatible with the New 3DS XL; they fall out all the time. Also, the tips are a lot sharper - I would not dare to use them on the touch screen. See other people's video reviews.
