SMALLRIG NP-FZ100 Camera Battery 2400mAh for Sony A7 IV, A7C R, A7C II4265B

I bought this as a spare battery for my Sony FX30, and it's been excellent. Having USB-C charging built directly into the battery is incredibly convenient, especially when I'm travelling or filming on location. I can top it up from a power bank or USB-C charger without needing to carry a separate battery charger. One thing I was particularly pleased to see is that my FX30 doesn't display any compatibility or battery warning messages when using it. The camera recognises it perfectly, and I've had no issues with normal operation. Battery life has been very good and is comparable to what I'd expect from this capacity. I've used it for a mixture of handheld filming, tripod work and gimbal shoots, and it's proved to be a dependable spare battery. The build quality is excellent too. It feels every bit as well made as the other SmallRig products I own, with solid construction and a secure fit in the camera. The integrated USB-C charging has probably become my favourite feature. Being able to plug a cable directly into the battery is such a simple idea, but it makes charging much more flexible when I'm away from home or already carrying USB-C chargers for the rest of my kit. If you're looking for a quality third-party NP-FZ100 battery for a Sony camera, I'd happily recommend this one. The lack of compatibility warnings, good battery life and the convenience of USB-C charging make it an excellent addition to my camera bag.

I'm normally someone who sticks with first-party batteries when it comes to my camera gear, so why did I order this? Quite simply, because (for me) it is better than the original. My Sony camera didn't come with a separate battery charger, so I was connecting the camera via USB-C whenever I wanted to charge the battery inside it. I had been planning on buying another original Sony battery, but then I saw this one, and SmallRig is a brand I trust. Being able to charge the battery directly (and quickly) via USB-C is a game-changer. It not only means that I am no longer limited to charging the battery inside the camera, but that I also don't have to hunt out the correct battery charger, or carry it around with me, either. My batteries can charge via a power bank in my bag between shoots. Costing considerably less than a first-party Sony alternative, this battery offers great value (I now have several) and in my experience it works just as well as the original. While you may have seen Sony cameras often throw up warnings if using third-party batteries, I have not experienced this; if I had, it would have been returned straight away.

Excellent compatibility, very good quality as you would expect from Smallrig. No issues or errors while using in a Sony A7 camera. The battery will charge from the cable provided or in the Sony charger without any issues. I Put it through its paces at temperatures as low as -17C, it comfortabley lasted as long as a Sony original battery. This is a very good compatible alternative and an excellent choice at this price point.

Haven't really noticed any difference between these & the official Sony batteries. The handiest feature is the ability to charge direct by plugging in a usb c cable.

This works great with my a7iv but I get the 'this battery isn't etc etc' message on the fx30 and then I don't get any kind of battery life indication. Very annoying from Sony

These are awesome… I use them in camera accessories, and specifically Preston focus control handset HU4. They last ages, charge quickly, are good value for money, and BEST of all, come in an awesome orange colour so everyone knows they’re mine! Smallrig is still the best name in Chinese camera accessories that are excellent value for money.

Nice item I forgot to check if it worked or what % of battery was on it I put it straight on charge and was fully charged in about 1h on a 65wt charger so about 50% full when I received it. No issues turning it on without any warning messages but I had updated the camera drivers a few months before so may have been why. Nearly half the price only thing that Frustrated me was it went down £10 within hours of ordering it on sail :( but still a good price

Bought a couple of these for a FX3 and work well no third party battery sign in the viewfinder so far impressed.

Nonostante non sia originale, la fotocamera la riconosce senza problemi: nessun messaggio di errore o incompatibilità. La durata è paragonabile a quella della batteria Sony originale, anche durante lunghe sessioni fotografiche o video. Il vero punto forte è la porta USB-C integrata, che permette di ricaricare la batteria direttamente senza bisogno di un caricatore dedicato. Comodissima in viaggio o quando si vuole ridurre l’attrezzatura.

I never have a camera battery that I can charge the battery itself with an USB-C cable, so this is totally a game changer. Having only 1 battery charging dock when I bought my Sony a6700, I was annoyed at the thought of charging just one battery at a time, or use both the charging dock and the camera itself to charge 2 batteries overnight. After buying this battery, I now have several spare batteries, which I can charge at least 2 simultaneously while I am using my camera during shoot or live events. There will be a warning on your camera, when you use this battery, and it may not show the battery % once in a while, but I never had problems with the battery. I have since bought another charging dock that can charge 2 batteries at once. I try charging this battery both on the dock and using usb-c. Either method charged the battery nicely.

Price worthy alternative to the original. Can't see a difference with the original yet. The charging port is a huge plus. Still to find out about the durability

I am using it on Sony A7s III and it hold power better than the original one, totally can recommend one

I got this for my Sony A7CII and can confirm that it is compatible, perfectly, with the camera. The battery does not trigger any warning messages typically displayed for third-party batteries even with the latest version of the A7CII firmware at the time of this writing (firmware ver. 2.00). The battery holds charge very well, as well as a new first-party Sony battery. It also has the added benefit of being chargeable via USB, making it better than a Sony battery in terms of ease of use while also being considerably less expensive. It also comes with a battery cover, which is nice. I can also confirm that while this battery has a USB charging port, it can also be charged in-camera, in the same manner as a Sony battery without a charging port.
