It serves purpose so it’s worth keeping. Been using it for a week or thereabouts. It’s also easy to set-up and very compact.

Works great, little fiddly to install but once up and running it seemlessly provides wifi to an area of my parents home preciously inaccessible. Compatible with Vodafone router. I set the network name and password to the same as current router and therefore no set up required at device level. Just works 👍

What I loved: The setup was really straightforward — TP-Link always does a good job with that. Once connected, the coverage boost was noticeable straight away. Dead zones became usable zones, and devices held onto their signal much more reliably. Speeds are solid, especially with the WiFi 6E band available. When it’s in a good placement, it genuinely feels like you’ve extended your main router rather than sticking on a cheap repeater. What made me sigh loudly: Performance depends a lot on where you put it. Move it slightly too far from the main signal and the speeds drop more than expected. Not a deal-breaker, just requires some experimenting to get the best out of it. Should you buy it? Yes — as long as you place it well, it’s a great way to extend coverage and boost speeds around the house. For mesh setups, it integrates nicely and works reliably once dialled in. Easy setup. Strong speeds. Good coverage improvement. Just a bit sensitive to placement. Still recommend — especially for WiFi 6/6E homes needing a coverage boost.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Reliable, Easy to Set Up, and Perfect for Larger Homes This is the second TP‑Link RE315 AC1200 WiFi Extender we’ve bought for our home, simply because the first one worked so well. Our house is quite large, and some rooms are a long way from the BT modem, so I needed an extra extender to give my desktop PC a stable connection. Setup couldn’t have been easier — it was up and running in under two minutes. The dual‑band signal and external antennas make a real difference, and the coverage is solid and consistent. Amazon was also the cheapest place I could find it, which made the decision even easier. If you’ve got a bigger home or devices that sit far from your main router, this extender does exactly what you need without any fuss.

Works, but has a pitfall - it’s advertised as having fast wifi speeds, and while this is technically the case with the wifi standards, it is bottlenecked by the 100Mbps “Fast” ethernet port, meaning that if you want to use this for any speed above 100Mbps over an Ethernet backhaul, this is not the product you need. However if you are comfortable with the 100Mbps Ethernet backhaul constraint or only want to use WiFi backhaul, it works great, is value for money, and requires little to no set up - you just plug it in and it works. I however will likely be refunding due to this limitation.

I bought it for its GB LAN connection speed and is doing the job of giving fast and stable WIRED Internet speed to my PC. That's why it has 5 stars for me. Who wants to buy it for other reasons must know something more. For example most absurd thing: you need to have access to your email address to be able to connect this WIFI extender to Internet. The question is how to access your email address through Internet if you FIRST need to connect to INTERNET on this device? The answer (from the producer) is that if you can't access your email address there is a workaround if you have access to the main router. And if you need to extend a hotel network and don't have access to the main router? That's why I bought my previous WIFI range extender, TP LINK TL-WA850RE, to use it for having a more stable and acceptable internet connection while travel, especially in hotels and did the job pretty well. With the new ones is not possible to do the same, not only because of the weird way to connect them to the Internet, but because they are much more bulkier, ugliest in the room and have that 4 expandable antenna which are all both transmitters and receivers, can be easily snapped and don't fit in almost any wall socket because of their size. These and many other reasons makes them useless when travelling. When installed at home, they must be well hidden to protect that 4 antennas which makes them look like a fried chicken when they are all extended. Of course, don't buy them if you want loose weight. For some reason, even with all 4 antennas extended, received signal is weaker than to my previous WA-850RE, which doesn't have any visible antenna. Is very difficult to find a wall socket having enough room around to fit fully extended "fried chicken". If you have 2 "fried chickens" in the same room, for some reason, (maybe it is my fault because I don't know how to make them work) they are bugging each other and the resulted WIFI signal is much worst than if you would have only one. This didn't happen with previous model.

The setting page does not allow you to change the password of the extender, so you are forced to use the same password as your main router. If that does not bother you, then the RE315 is fine. Just fine though, because it is also bulky, so it will block your other main plugs if you plan to have something else next to the extender (how dare you?). Since it's got a different SSID, there is no reason why this wifi booster cannot have a different password as many other models can... but, as we all know, the current tendency with hi-tech right now is to strip away useful settings, and offer you useless ones in return (like why would I want a TP-Link account for a sit and forget wifi booster?). Anyway... the status LEDs are nice to have, the antennas seem to do the job, the wifi coverage was plenty for me, it has a somewhat elegant (but bulky!!!!) design, easy to setup... so if you can live with the shortcomings, then buy it... I'll return mine!

I had read some reviews about the RE815XE and was a bit apprehensive given the price, but I kept an eye out for it to come on sale and bought it. The TP-Link AXE5400 router is great and was suited to my needs. Large old house, a lot of brick or stone walls internally. However having my home internet upgraded from 30MB to 500MB due to a new fiber link (I had the option of up to a 1.6GB/s fiber link, this seemed overkill for me so I opted for the 500MB/s). Due to the internet upgrade I was going to need something more than a strong 2.5ghz signal given the increase in bandwidth. The RE815XE has brought a strong 5.2ghz band across the whole house - partlly because its a really good piece of kit and partly because I was fortunate to be able to position it really well. Highest speed I can get in my office with fiber is 80MB without the RE815XE, with it installed I have not yet found a capacity limit for a 500MB fiber connection. Latency has not been an issue either as I usually play 40K DarkTide and other FPS online games and have not had an issue with latency. For some reason I have never detected a WiFi 6 connection despite my PC and mobile phone being capable of using it, on either the AXE5400 or the RE815XE. I have read elsewhere that in the UK the WiFi 6E on this model is used as a backhaul in order to increase bandwidth capacity. I am unsure how accurate this is, I just know that the RE815XE has allowed me to make the most out of my new fiber connection and I have no issues in recommending it. Just wait for it to come on sale as it is a good, though pricey bit of kit.

Fonctionne bien mais a été livré avec une prise anglaise, j'ai dû acheter un adaptateur pour l'utiliser.

Just could not connect to the router. I thought this would just be a plug in and all would be fine but despite assistance from AI I could not get this to work. For me a waste of money
